I wa just notified of a new upgrade, by the looks of things its only to do with cd's do I need to down load it or just keep rocking with what I got. I backed up memrior's of a Geisha today with no problem useing just shrink, I would hate to mess up what I got if I don't need it. Thanks alot ya'll
Well it's not going to be worse than the previous version. I downloaded the new version 5.9.5.6 to file and later installed it. You can do the same, or keep the version your running now it's totally up to you.:P
What version are you using then ? Version 5.9.5.6 of AnyDVD that just came out yesterday compared to the previous version of 5.9.5.3 is only for CD protection that's correct. You can see what the advanced are by clicking on the 'History' link at the Slysoft download page for AnyDVD. If you don't have an AnyDVD license then I can see why you wouldn't want to bother unless you had to. From what I've noticed, as long as you have at least version 5.9.4.1 which came out Feb 24, you should be fine for now. Actually even version 5.5.4.1 from last November 15,2005 seems to be fine for the new movies but it may not last long because AnyDVD History shows advancements again's Sony's Acoss protection after that. If money is a factor for the license, look on eBay for an AnyDVD license. I brought mine for $6 last week, got the license on my AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 from that. Then yesterday upgraded to the newest version with no problems so you get free upgrades no hassle for life.
One more thing. If you want to be caution about upgrading your AnyDVD as it sounds, just use your WindowXP 'System Restore' feature. Creat a restore point before you do anything, then go ahead with the upgrade and what ever else you want to add with it. If something goes wrong, like your software doesn't work, you can't uninstall it becuase of some error, I don't know what ever, then restore your computer back to that point you made before all of it. It's helped me out from time to time in the past. Just a tip.

- i hope they find your license is not legit and block it. Good God the software doesn't cost hardly anything and unlike most companies you get free updates for life. Sheesh
