I have had a problem with first look studio's films and anydvd. Most recent problems was with irresistible and first drop. If I set the settings in anydvd to jump to title menu, the movie will not play in anything. I go back and uncheck the box telling it to jump to title and everything works fine. I used anydvd and clonedvd together to create an iso and have used other programs to get it to go directly to the title but I just thought that was weird and was wondering if any others have had troubles similar to that.

I have never heard of that problem. I searched and didn't come up with any threads pertaining to those movies. The only thing I might suggest is make sure your AnyDVD is up to date. The latest version is 5.9.5.6. Best of luck in solving your problem. Maybe somebody much smarter than myself will happen by.

If I can learn here so can you.
Search first, then ask. Words to live by.

Yep that's the setting I keep my AnyDVD on. I've tried to explain that this feature was available and emphasized how nice it is adding to your viewing experience and giving your DVD burning project that custom feel. But here lately theres been alot of AnyDVD hate going on? Now back to your concerns. First Look is a sleeper they have some vicious no name encryption going on with there films. I own irresistible and did not experience any recent trouble using the latest AnyDVD to NERO Recode6 to back up a single copy to disc. The Movie "CONVICTED" (First Look) was a B**CH. I'm so glad AnyDVD & Vob Blanker exist without them most of us would have some serious back up issues.:P

Yeah I have noticed the AnyDVD hate thing goin on to. Can't understand it either AnyDVD is a great program that is updated VERY frequently(Not that there isn't MANY great programs out there). I only usually make iso files to view from the hd on my laptop at work and that irresistible locked up the whole machine! Wasn't no biggie just watched something else that night and fixed that one the next day lol... But you said they have sleeper encryption? man that is something to! I know once I had ripped the file like I said, with go to the title menu I tried every program to get it to play and it would just LOCK up! I was able to rip the movie only from the ripped file and it played fine. Since you own it to, give it a try on your puter and see if you can play that puppy! rip it with the option Jump to Title and see you have any luck with it. But in the future my AnyDVD will be set to jump to main movie...

Though ISO image files are a popular means of backing up DVD's I do not preferr this approach. I did "IRRESISTBLE" with AnyDVD and Nero Recode2 and it plays fine. ISO file to DVD at any rate for me is more of a last resort or desparate measure. I did ISO for "CONVICTED" per recommendation of Afterdawn forum member and though this method worked I did experience some inconsistent freezing and stutter. I would suggest Recode2 or SHRINK or even VOB Blanker 2.0.1.1 which I did not have at the time but is now one of my favorite programs to use if needed. The AnyDVD hate thing in my opinion is some people here watching the belt tighten with regards to encryption getting tougher and decrypting options as we all once knew lessening. Many have stepped up to purchase their decrypting software program of choice. Hey, you buy your DVD's Right? Why not buy your back-up software if needed.

Like I've mentioned before the buying or purchase side of things seems to cause the conflict for some. I wonder why....HMMMMMMM? I'll be the 1st to admit VOB Blanker would be a nightmare to use if they had not gone to an auto feature which the program now has that allows you to set the softwares back-up options and press "Process". So I appreciate what Slysoft does for everyone at a cost of next to nothing $39.00? Again What if DVDFab decides to stop offering its decrypter for free? Overall I don't see where many people show a great interest in their(DVDFab's)entire software package that actually with exception of color mirrors CloneDVD2 design format. What if you could no longer get VOB Blanker at no cost? Hey there's nothing wrong with giving back. Some could stand to loose the total hacker mentality and support the software makers efforts and give life to the hobby side of things.:p
