Using AnyDVD Ver 5.9.5.6 and 1 Click DVD 4.2.9.2. Today after the latest microsoft automatic update for Windows 2000, I now get an error from 1 Click DVD once it gets about 95% done with the first stage: A read error has occered while reading a file. The file may be encrypted or cannot be read correctly by the DVD device. If you are using a decrptor, you may need to restart your computer." I have reinstalled both programs and that does not correct the issue. If I use the system restore function and go back to before the OS update both programs work fine. This latest update was 5 patches, one for IE and one for outlook express, not sure what the others were for.

There is a warning on Microsoft that shows how to correct this without the uninstall: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165

I tried that too but it didn't work. The only thing that did for me was the system restore function.

Is anyone else seeing this? Please HELP!

It could b just a smudged dirty disc that the program can not read propperly.

I've tried this with 5 different DVDs - all brand new out of the schrink wrap so I doubt very much that is the problem.

I have a case open with Slysoft about this. They asked me to do the same thing. I've already installed the CloneDVD and get errors as well.

my gut feeling on this is that microsoft is trying to stop people from burning dvd's it is a known fact that vista will stop ye from copying movies.
also it a known fact that microsoft can turn on ye auto updates,
even if ye have it turned off..

so i wonder if this is a test of more things to come from microsoft
in there update packages...
