Perhaps a silly question, but i'm assuming you have the full, paid for version of DvdFab?
If your a DvdFab HD Decrypter (free version) or your trial period has expired you won't have those options available.

Im not sure if this is something to mention here, but I have a "Magic Jack" phone for my computer. DVDFab and Magic Jack do not get along, every time I start DVDFab, I start getting pop up windows from Magic Jack interrupting DVD Fab, The windows are asking me if I want to restart or reload Magic Jack. I usually just unplug Magic Jack, but its a pain, because I have to get behind the computer to unplug it from the USB.
Have you heard of this before, anyone else have this problem? Is there something I can do about this?
Windows Vista, 64bit Processor

@JHILL
Have never run into this before, but i don't use magic jack. I'll do some digging and see i can come up with anything.
@dr_ml
So you're sorted now? That's good. I know Fengtao and Ting have been working hard on the PathPlayer settings and functionality due to some issues that were being reported.
@Endo
Interesting indeed. You set to start ripping and burning Blu Ray yet? :P

@ jhill. Is the Majic Jack recognized as a drive w/a letter when plugged into the usb port? If so you might want to go there and disable auto run/play until you finish w/Fab. There's all sorts of options in the properties there. Just a thought. I'm also presuming you have no front usb port on your case correct?

I also have a magic jack. I use it primary as a second phone line and to call long distance. The only time it's plugged in, is for my use. I don't want spam phone calls. It will mimic a ODD and therefore causes problems with AnyDVD and DVDFab. When I use it, I just disable AnyDVD and Fab is never enabled unless I choose to use it. Never have any problems. I also plug it into the front when in use. You can solve the back end problem by just getting an extension up to front and hide the USB cord.

Garmoon,
Thanks for the response. I got rid of my home phone and use MJ instead, Honestly, we use our cells for most every call, but the wife like to have a backup so she wants the MJ plugged in.
I have two front USB ports, but dont want the MJ hanging out so I have it plugged into the back.
Im hoping that DVDfab guys will figure out a way to make these two things work nicely together, otherwise, Ill just keep putting up with it. I dont have anydvd, DVDFab has worked for a long time.

Don't count on MJ for any support. So like I said get a 3ft usb extension much like the one that came with the magic jack and just have it conveniently located in an accessible place behind the pc maybe twist tied to the power cord so you can just unplug it.

I seriously doubt Fab is going to do some RnD to settle the majic jack issue. Do you have another computer where you can use either of the 2 independently? That I think would solve this minor irritant.
Other than that I feel garmoon and myslf included have provided more than a adequate response for a solution. That's my last 2cents though, and given the economy it's practically not much.

Hey ZoSoIV,
Thanks for the good info, This is by far the Most impressive "adequate response for a solution" that I have gotten from fellow afterdawners... LOL
Sorry dude, I had to fit the phrase "adequate response for a solution" in somewhere that dr_ml422 posted to me earlier...
Ill give it a try...

Guess wording is everything to some. It was suggested to look into disabling majic jack already. Was there something that made you get more impressed w/the previous suggestion than w/all the others?

dr_ml422,
I tried to ignore your condescending responses, but you want to keep taking a snips at me. Please don't assume that your status on this forum as a "Member" and mine as just a "Newbie" as meaning that Im new to this game or that you have some superior knowledge over me and my abilities.
I appreciate your and others response to my question, but just so you understand the point of my post, my question was a MJ question, not a question about backing up DVD's, It was for the software developers of DVDFab to see if they had any other members reporting they had problems with their MJ's working with DVDFab.
The reason I thought your answer was phrased funny is because you came across to me as condescending. I thanked you all for the responses you gave because I didn't want to be rude by dismissing the obvious suggestions from the board that I had already tried before I had ever posted my question in the first place. I was happy that guys took the time to respond to me, but your response seemed a little snippy. In fact you said this:
Quote: I seriously doubt Fab is going to do some RnD to settle the majic jack issue. Do you have another computer where you can use either of the 2 independently? That I think would solve this minor irritant. Other than that I feel garmoon and myslf included have provided more than a adequate response for a solution. "
and
Quote: I was just thinking about how I 1st started, and didn't take the suggestions that were given. I ended up taking all of them sooner or later
Maybe Im imagining things, but your post seemed a little snippy... For the most part, everyone gave great suggestions, but I know how to disable a port and use the front USB v/s the back one's. Im not here looking for a fight, I've been lurking on this board and others for a long time, I just never signed up, figured Id start asking a few questions and became a member (Newbie)... There you go.
Life is too short, can we just be friends???

You might want to post your questions about majic jack on the CD Freaks forum, as one of the dvd fab devolpers posts there and responds quite frequently.

@ jhill I have no issue w/you as a member or even being friends. We're all here to help each other. I also am not even close to some of the fellas here in their experience. Member status or not. I only pointed out that as some more experienced members including myself posted almost the same fix to your issue, you just totally went on until there was nothing left but take the suggestion anyway.
No beef buddy. I'm not that kind of a guy. I'm a stand up person. just that Fab has nothing to do w/magic jack so that request was a lil off.
Now a senior member has provided a link to the other site some of us frequent as well. That's about 4 of us already w/a good suggestion. It's not personal at all.
Otn, I think the current stable version of fab has some bug where the 1st flic backed up will buzz right through, but the second 1 will take about a 1/2 hour to back up. This happened on both my 2yr. old Dell, and my Monster new build, so it's not the pcs. Also the flics were all different, including the second one that takes longer. I don't like trying the betas so I don't know if this was fixed in the last 2 beta updates.
Any input greatly appreciated. I also checked and unchecked read ahead cache in both instances w/same reults.

I would agree with Berryone.
I think these type of questions, including jhills and the doc's are better suited in the open forum as opposed to here.
Just my opinion though.

The only relevance is that Magic-Jack can cause a conflict with both(?) DvdFab and AnyDVD.
That being said, my knowledge of Magic-Jack is relatively limited as well.
How's you Creakster?
