I wouldn't be suprised if PS3 was a complete phailure since it cost over twice as much as Wii and close to twice as much a 360.

Pretty arrogant statement lol. There are die hard PC players and console players, so neither industry will die anytime soon - the Xbox 360 will allow PC players and 360 players to play online against each other, so if anything the two platforms/technologies are beginning to emalgamate...

No kidding, with a price point of $500 and games that cost $90, i dont see the ps3 even taking a large market share in the video game battle, let alone the internet gaming segment. I cant wait to c the ps3 go the way of the "highly touted" dreamcast. That system was a great success LMFAO!!!!

Lol. Hey we are in a PS3 forum, if we aren't careful with our words we may get bashed haha. And by the way I think I wanna get hold of a dreamcast for the likes of Skies of Arcadia and Phantasy Star Online - but I heard that Skies is on another console (PS2?). Hmmm. By the way it almost seems you've given up on our debate after i brainwashed PepsiMaxx lol!

Timmy, the sequal to skies of arcadia is on Game Cube. Yeah, the dreamcast had some great games but one of the main reasons was the price point. Dreamcast cost twice as much as N64 and PS1 ($200 compared to $100), which seems to be the case with PS3.

As long as Sony keeps a closed platform there will be developers programming on the PC for the fun of it and small studios that can't afford the high cost of the development kit which runs into the thousands. Sony has done all it can on it's platforms to actively discourage homebrew, and pretty much crippled development on it's PS2 Linux. On the other hand there are many free compilers in any programming language on the PC and many low cost commercial development packages. Even if they allow homebrew programming and have low cost or free development tools they will never stop people from programming on the PC as their development platform of choice.

Cant argue with that, but diehard pc gamers arnt gonna turn to the ps3 or the Xbox360 for that matter. Im sure they can afford a ps3 given they update graphic cards, that doesnt mean they are going to though;)

Money is always a factor. Im not poor, but 600 bucks for a system is a waste of cash, especially when u have a top of the line comp that plays games at better specs than a home console. Poointless, i gurantee the Wii will blast the ps3. Its cheaper, has cutting edge technology, and is apealling to ppl that dont want to waste 1000 bucks on a system and a couple games.

i also agree that for playing fps nothing is better than a keyboard-mouse ,so since sony wants the ps3 to be your home pc and it has several usb ports ,its almost a 100% u will be able to play ur ps3 fps's using keyboard-mouse and its going to be awesome.

I've heard it all now!ps3 making the PC obselete is complete and utter nonsense.ps3 specs wont be able to compete in the longrun,online service cant even be compared to that of a PC's,PC fans are even more diehard than the most loyal sony or MS fans.This is just crazy...the ps3 WILL NOT be the messiah of videogame consoles!Sony had what is notably the worst showing at e3 by a mile and even still theres ludacris talk like this.Ps3 will be a great system why cant we just leave it at that?Whenever you put something on a pedastol like this it is sure to dissapoint...just TOO much hype.This is why the bashing of the ps3 starts is because of crazy talk like this,Phil harrison is nuts

I just dont agree with their pricing strategy and how much games are gonna cost, thats all. Trust me, if at some point the ps3 w/60 gig hdd costs 350 bucks, i will be the first in line.

More people have a PC than a ps3 and that is why this conversation is ridiclous.Theres more gamers on the pc flat out.I hate pC games mainly because i suck at them but even i know that MS and sony cant even touch the PC when it comes to gaming,the technology moves to fast
