Can anyone tell me what programs are out there that are similar to Kazaa, but not as deadly?

What do you mean by deadly? Kazaa is the best p2p out there, especially if you use it with diet kazaa which gets rid of all the ads and spyware and speeds up your downloads.

Are you new?? Kazaa is closer to the worst out there than it is the best, Its completely unreliable and the only thing it has going for it is that it is fast.
DC++ and eMule are 20 times the programs kazaa is!! And i dont care even diet kazaa or K++ they still have noting on eMule and DC++
Or even better try newsgroups, irc and ftp!
Kazaa is just music basically, for everything else, forget it!

Sorry we will have to agree to disagree. Yes Kazaa is great for mp3 files but I have also downloaded valuable imaging software and movies with no hassle at all and the search tool produces more results than any of the others simply because more people use Kazaa than any other p2p. Also virtually all the other providers shove tons of spyware onto your system such as Morpheus and atleast you can block this and the ads with Kazaa.

eMule and DC++ have 0 spyware/adware! The Donkey Network now gets just as much users as Kazaa and has 1000 times the reliability of Kazza! Trust me man, I've tested em all out and DC++ and eMule just sit on top of the list when it comes to p2p!

I use newsgroups and donkey for everything.. I'll wait a little extra time to get my files reliably, rather then having a ton of corrupt downloads, etc..

Shareaza is all I use now, with it you can connect to the Gnutella network (Bearshare, Limewire, etc.) the eDonkey2000 network, and a new network called Gnutella2 (The best of the three). The bonus there is you can swarm your downloads from all three networks at once. Plus you can also use it for Bit Torrent. Of course no spyware/adware either.

I definatly have to go with Dela, i asked the same question about 2 weeks ago and Dela recommeded Emule which i have to admit takes a few days to get used to however the quality is excellent and there are a lot less jokers than Kazaa putiing fake files on and now that i've been using it a couple of weeks my downloads are pretty fast! All i can say is Thanx to Dela

I don't know how to get on to it and i few weeks ago i tried Mirc and i asked someone how to download movies and then someone banned me from using it! So i didn't know if it's just for chat or anything else but as you can guess with that sort of reception i couldn't be bothered with it:-)And on emule its all in different laugauge?Thanx for the info on the thread i posted:-)

one more thing, g1neo, i know what youre talking about. some channels hate when people come in there asking how to do stuff, they dont want people trying to help new comers out and fill up there chats with discussion, but you need to realize, bans usually are temporary, and there are literally thousands of channels on any given server where you can find stuff to download, just read a faq first, and read the channels rules if they have any.

I have overnet but dont use it much, i find eMule better but a lot of stuff does come from overnet!

Isnt it true that in eMule you still have to deal with connecting to and updating servers? That would be enough of a hassle to discourage me from trying it...

Servers are easy, once you get the first server list then everytime you connect to a server the list is updated!

I've tried edonkey and emule and I keep getting this low ID crap when I connect to a server. I've tried everything from changing the ports the program runs on, to completely disabling Norton Internet Security.
Still can't download anything. :|
