Hi maddog920
Well it's a Sony release so my quess would be it has the usual Sony stuff on it like ARccOS.
Using the latest version of fab decrypter - 2.9.8.3?

You can also try the AnyDVD/Clone DVD combo - not free but 21 free trial - so far hasn't failed me. http://slysoft.com

Or here's another free way - RipIt4Me. Here's a guide w/ links to the programs needed:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110

If you use AnyDVD - have it set to 'show new media info' and post back what it says.

Keep us posted

Maybe he didn't have the latest version of DVDFab. I hardly ever hear that not working for a new movie.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Ok - AnyDVD is just a driver that runs in the background.
You can download a 21 day trial from here:
http://www.slysoft.com/en/

Once you install it by default it's usually set to auto start. To tell if it's on you'll see a red fox in the system tray (bottom right hand of windows)
Since you're in the shrink forum and tried RipIt4Me you probably have Shrink. Pop the disc in the drive give it a minute (fox will turn a light red - once red again ok) then open the disc in Shrink and use as normal.
Try that and let us know how that goes.

I backed up a single copy of this movie (RV) to disc using AnyDVD 6.0.4.5 in the backround set to start from "main movie" option. I use Nero 7 Recode2 to back the movie up to 4.7 GB DVD disc (FULLSCREEN). I also had no problem with "Silent Hill" or "Phat Girlz" or "Scary Movie 4". I would suggest this simple 1 step combo. It's good to have VOB Blanker 2.1.0.0 or CloneDVD 2.8.9.9 just incase you do run into problems I also may remove 2.1 channel audio to enhance picture quality. Save all the twist turns and back flips, I try to keep this simple as possible.:P

I have the latest versions of AnyDVD, DVD Region, Clone DVD, DVD FAB Decrypter and was not able to back-up RV. I also tried VOB Blanker. DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. I tried every tick in the book and was not sucessful. This IS something new from Sony. I still have not tried RipIt4Me. I will try it today an will post the results.

@brown9
What happened w/ the other programs you used?
If you can set AnyDVD to 'show new medis info' and post what it says.
This will tell what kind of copy protection is on the disc.

Keep us posted on RipIt4Me.

AnyDVD 6.0.4.5 did the trick. It turns out that I was one version behind. I always turn off the 'check for new version' option, just a habit. Anyway, back it up with DVD Shrink, no problems. BTW, I did try RipIt4Me and did get the movie only. The problem was that it repeated the last chapter twice so it was no good. Thanks for all the help.

can you post the AnyDVD information window for this disc? just right click the little red FOX icon and go to SETTINGS, then cut and paste what it says in that window. this will help us identify what is going on with that disc.

thank you.

@ camaro61,

Is that why it looks like a piece of cake? that is a burned one?

I was gunna say whats all the fuss about, looks like there is no protection on it, that sure doesn't look like a sony movie!
