Honestly Kuro Beta 2 is the best firmware you could possibly use.

Scouser im not doubting you or anything like that but im just very weary of this jtagging thing and want to crack it, and get the box up and running as quick as i can without any hicups, if all goes well ill then move over to beta, as i said in a previous comment im not very technically minded,(bit over the hill) if you know what i mean.

Have you unplugged and re-powered the box?
Scart output may be messed up, until you clear channel data & restore factory settings.
So view the output via the RF output, clear the data & reboot, scart should work again now.

Mikey you may need to do this:
1) Connect Eurovox to TV using TV/VCR aerial connection on back of box with a coax lead.
2) Plug Eurovox into mains and switch on.
3) Tune your TV into channel 170.
4) You will see a request to enter a PIN ? use the master PIN 1004.
5) Enter Menu and go to ?Config?.
6) Go to ?Clear Data?.
7) Enter PIN ? 1004
8) Go to ?Factory Default?, click OK.
9) Click on your Symbol rate, either Symbolrate(6887) presume you are N**. Press OK.
10) Click OK when the warning comes up.
11) Exit and then load your ?Channel File?

just got a eurovox 2008. I'm on NTHell digital + sports package. All channels tuned in perfectly using powerscan which is great.
I've a couple of questions.
1. I can get rid of the sports package saving me that subscription which is great. Can I also get rid of the digital package in the hope that the cable will still be live and I can still use the feed coming in to the eurovox. Has anyone done this ?
2. Could i buy a satellite dish and use that as an input into the eurovox - if i did this could i get rid of the nthell digital package ?
thanks for any help

You could use a Dreambox 500S with a satellite dish but it is fairly complicated.Haven't done it myself. A friend of mine did it and said it was a pain in the arse.
And everything Scouser told you is spot on as usual!!
