They need to update their product for the new fluxDVD corruptions. And they need to update their FixVTS feature.

Why don't you buy the DVD in a shop?
Cheaper, faster and much better sound and picture quality.
And easier to copy, too. And you get a disc. Maybe a booklet, too.

Well, I didn't buy it and don't plan on buying it. Period. I didn't like the movie so I won't be buyin' it. Plus, it was just a suggestion.

What movie? You were talking about a protection, not a movie.

Oh, sorry about that. I was talkin' about the new fluxDVD protections they put on Tokyo Drift (http://www.cinemanow.com/Burn-To-DVD/1005,1,5,f,7,2,84631/The-Fast-and-the-Furious-Tokyo-Drift.htm).

I'm an extremely satisfied customer with my AnyDVD software. You can't beat 4 updates in a month in my book, only had trouble backing up one movie in the year and a half that I've been a customer. Hats off to Slysoft and their AnyDVD product, Bravo.
If I'm not badly mistaken AnyDVD has already defeated FluxDVD as was posted August 18 on Afterdawn.

They did beat fluxDVD. But, since then, fluxDVD has updated itself. The only way for one to copy it now is to use DVDFab Decrypter.

@vette81
Hi, welcome. You will definately need to have a DVD writer. You need to have programs that will rip the movie files to the hard drive, such as DVDdecrypter, DVDFabDecrypter, etc., as well as programs that will analyze and encode (shrink) those files to fit onto a DVD5 disc such as DVDShrink, and then a program that will burn the files to the disc such as DVDDecrypter or imgburn. All of the programs that I have mentioned are available free. I would suggest reading the guides in my signature or checking the guides available at this forum. Read read read. You will be getting the job done shortly.

It would make things easier for you if you had a DVD burner, otherwise you will need to convert your file to a format that can be burned onto a CD, Nero Vision Express can do this, and hopefully you have a standalone player that will recognize VCD and SVCD.

AnyDVD is the best. However, I think a new update is needed to handle the movie Once in the Lifetime. The movie can be backed up fine but the extras can not be backed up. The video is completely garbed. The extras play fine watching the store bought DVD. I have sent them a notification of the problem.

Once in a Lifetime backed up easily. AnyDVD did it's job. It sounds like your problem could be in the software you used to back it up.
Keep this in mind: AnyDVD is only for removing the protection, nothing more. Once it does that. You use other software to make the back up. Too much compression can make poor quality playback. A lot depends on how you set up the software used for back up. When you're trying to put over 7 gigs on a 4.3 gig blank. Well, the compression can be too high if you try backing up the extras and the movie too. Generally, 70% quality or better is desirable. 70% quality = 30% compressed.

You should check, if your DVD-Reader is set to the correct region.

Bunnyrip/Elby, My DVD reader is set to the correct region. Update 6.0.8.0 that came out today solved the problem. I came home from a football game today and noticed the new update and downloaded it, re-ripped this DVD and all the extras played perfectly off my hard drive. Thanks!

Excellent! Glad Slysoft's latest update fixed it for you. I always back up only the main movie & don't care about the extras. But, that's just me. Stll, the quality bar in CloneDVD 2 needs to be as high as you can get it for best results. I have found that as long as it isn't in the red zone, it should play OK. The higher the number, the better the playback can be.
Edited for a typo, arghh.
