Stinky, as i was recommending, i think you should add hdl_dump 0.7.3 to your cd instead of fap_link. It seems to have a lot more bugs, and really affects how much u can send(2 gb limit). With ftp transfer, hdl_dumb is a lil slower, instead of 1 hour 30 min for 5 gig file, it take 2 h 5 min. Not a big difference, but it is an excellent source for ftp transfer if you can't connect the hd to your pc. Also, let me know if u are having trouble with anything, i'll take a look into it. I'm not very smart but very lucky hah. Thanx Stinky, u've helped a lot

I cant get seem to get the sega master system emulator to work. It boots up fine but when I try to enter the folder where the roms r it says there are no roms and for me to push start. Then it kicks me back out to where I can see the folder for SNES, Genesis and the Sega master system rom folders are.
How do I get it working?

well first off are your sega master sys roms in the right folder
i think you might have put them in your genesis folder or the other way round
one more thing make sure that your sega master system files have the right extension---for that system cause sometimes when you download it they have different extension or name---and also the snes roms i think might have an extension just like master system---b sure i think sega master sys is .smc

ooh and also why do people want to hook up their pc to the playstation hard-drive thru fplink or whatever---if its to put your game on the hard drive----just pull out the hard drive from the ps2 connect it with an ide cable to your pc and use winhiip it is so easy trust me --takes like 10 minutes per game---not 2 hrs like the pc to ps2 internet way
just asking and telling

Like he said make sure the files have the right ext. I did that with SNES, then changed the file ext and they showed up. I use A bulk renaming program that allows me to edit bulk file names at once, real easy takes 10 secs....

I am going to be uploading a newer version of my disk. I did a DUmmy file fix so that it loads MUCH better with SM.
I also added the newest version of winhiip which was just released yesterday.
So this one will work better with your sm disc at least. But there is no way of making a trigger disk. This is not an exploit cd, its a cd designed for people with mod chips and hdd's.
I also changed the file name for my packed up cd. Now it will have the revision date on the end. I will also add a revision page to my site so that everyone will know if they are running the latest version or not. Look for those in the next couple hours.

I think I know why the SMS emulator cant read the roms. I left them in zip format assuming that it could read it like that (the Genesis and SNES emulators could).
As for the people who cant get SMD to boot Stinky's cd just use CDGEN and follow the instructions, the cd boots everytime for me.

give it a few minutes or hours. I just updated it so it wont show the right one for a bit. Also try force reloading it. It should work, I saw the updated version after it was done.

I just checked again and the page is working fine. If you dont see the newest version (added a page) then you should at least still see the old version.

Actually I think 10-4 is CB radio "Code". You know..."10-4 Good Buddy" or "what's your 10-20? (location)" Military radio for got it would be "affirmative" or "roger that"

$ur, you need to relax. I gotta sleep sometimes too here. :)
I highly doubt there is a way to make the network disk boot backups. The reason you can do it with GS is because it is designed to be swapping discs around, so the ps2 really has no idea that its not an original game anymore.
I dont know all that much about the PS2 or hacking it. Everything I learned about it I found on this forum, and this forum alone. I started looking into this stuff in Dec of this year. Before that I knew only that if I put a Game in the PS2 and turned it on I could play it!
So you can be at the level I am at in only a month or 2 of solid reading.

All right, since people are annoying the heck out of me with their questions about running this with no mod chip I fixed a few things. I now added my own exploit intsaller. It will install Launchelf as well as HDLOADER onto your MC. I provide instructions how you can then swap in my original AIO DISK and have full function of my disk without the need for a mod chip. You do still need access to a modded PS2 to get the exploit onto the MC. Or have a slide card or something else handy. You also need a way to swap discs on the fly to get my AIO DISK into the PS2 once inside Launchelf. This does defeat most of the points of my disc. But will be a usefull tool for people that really have no chance of getting a mod chip installed.
I think the documentation I provided is pretty simple to follow. If you have any questions you may ask here, or PM me, or use the contact form from my site.
Hopefully this will stop the questions from people asking if this works without a mod chip, or asking how I can make it into an exploit.
Note also that if the contents of this whole disk were put into an exploit you would use ONE entire 8mb memory card on it. WIth this exploit you will use just under 1 mb. Thats not GREAT, but acceptable to the cheap people with no mod chips. If this 1mb becomes an issue for you then go get a mod chip and call it a day. then this disk will only use 2kb of your MC!
Have a good day guys. and enjoy.
