@LexZ: I'm glad you're excited about HDMI 1.3 in the PS3 but unless you're thinking of upgrading your audio setup for Dolby Tru-HD and DTS-HD or unless you have a high-end 1080p HD display - it won't really mean that much in practical terms.

man i am getting the hook up i am getting new audio and a 1080p tv that is small so i don't need to pay alot ( i prefer playing on a small tv go ahead call me crazy)

That setup sounds awesome lexz but 1080p is very ...very hard to find in smaller sizes.With that type of setup it looks like you will be able to take advantage of everything the 1.3 spec has to offer.

The smallest 1080p tv as far as I know is the Westinghouse 37" LVM-37W1 = sells for around $1,200 refurbished:

I'm still doing research on receivers/preamp-processors that will do HDMI 1.3, DD-TruHD and DTS-HD but expect those to run in the $1000 range or more. Add to that the cost of new speakers to take you to 7.1 channels.

yeah I'm not wealthy or anything.In fact I will struggle to get a ps3 alone...if I even get one.But if you guys can afford that kinda money all the best to you.
Thats' a great link I can't recall seeing a smaller one.Most of the ones I saw were 42",55",60"...etc.
I personally was never an audio freak myself.With me I can't even hear the difference between different audio specs but everyone's different.

Just to clarify my last post: As far as I know none of the current 1080p displays or current audio equipment have HDMI 1.3 capability since the specs just came out earlier this month. These will come out later this year. So if you really want to take advantage of HDMI 1.3 make sure you research the specs well. Current HDMI users may have to send back their equipment to upgrade to 1.3.

hahaha, im already like that with my xbox 360 ao i know the feeling.Good luck with getting your setup for your ps3 it will be well worth it seeing as how you want it so bad it will make it all the better when you achieve it! My gf is getting the wii and i have the 360 so she better be using another t.v cause my t.v is for 360 use only LOL

ms doesnt even have all that fantasic fps's anyways that arnt multiconsole. sure theres halo but it got old and repetative pretty fast for me.

You can say that about any game that has multiple sequels.MGS has gotten ridiclous with its corny character names its like a cast for animal porn.Solid snake,liquid snake,something with an octapus and so on.Then the whole stealth thing gets old especially wehn you hiding under boxes i mean come on your supposed to be a legendary U.S "spytype" guy and you hide in lockers and under boxers thats cool.Now on to Devil may cry 99 where dante has died like 74 time and escapes hell every other installment.Virtua fighter 78 will be coming out later this year or early next year i mean why is it you fellas BASH MS games SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much? I mean Halo is a legend and yet you guys degrade it down to a sh!tter game.I wouldnt of pulled out the big guns and bashed those Sony legends if you guys didnt religously take shots at MS and their innovation especially after we've had convos speaking how its almost impossible to be original in this day and age. The only Sony game i give massive kudos to is GOD OF WAR. That game got a shot of jesus juice and is my favorite game of all time for its gameplay,orginality,storyline and the list just doesnt stop. I cant wait til GOW 2 and luckily for me you dont have to own a ps3 to get the game since it sreleasing for the ps2. Well, this is all i have to offer...

@ dngl well it is in my opinion that alotta people like the origionality of the stealth of mgs. and dmc4 will be AWESOME 1 was great 2 was to easy and 3 was WAY TO HARD! so i am hoping 4 will be a nice median. and virtua fighter is a classic i was whooping i n the arcade 11 years ago don't knock that series
p.s. dngl send me II Rebel X II a friend request it will be SWEET to play u in some cod2 or some halo2 (which i still play)

halo was a nice series but it just wears of if you are not obsessed over it or ms. the guns get old, the gameplay is sooooooooo unoriginal and repetative sometimes, and you control a guy who can throw a grenade over 2 football fields in length. its nothing compared to other fps's in a sci-fi relm like unreal 2 (which gets old but slowly, a good 2x replay value here) and the half life series (which never seems to lose its value).
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

accually a majority of my friends who loved halo dont anymore or dont even play games much anymore. same reasons as mine for the most part. also, most of my friends have jobs, and see the lack of potential in the 360 and are going for the ps3. not everyone is poor.

More are poor than rich so dont be snobby.That is your friends, WOW i guess you and your buddies represent the general gaming community.Did you happen to see all the hype Halo 3 caught? Even if Cell were Downgraded than
Cell would have to be clocked in at under 1.4GHz to have the same performance as a CPU in "another competitive product*cough*Xbox 360*cough*." Or, to put it another way.. The Cell would have to shut off four of its SPEs at 3.2Ghz.
Cell calculation figures are based off the PPe and SPe's.
Multiply-Adds which count as 2 instructions, hence 3.2GHz x 4 x 2 = 25.6 GFLOPS.
25.6 X 7 SPEs = 179 GFLOPS
To reach your speed (or close to it)
1.33GHz x 4 x 2 = 10.72 x 7 Spe's = 75.4
The way the cell would actualy calculate the desired output.
3.2GHz x 4 x 2 = 25.6 GFLOPS x 3 SPe's 79.5 GFLOPS

Welcome to the forum. It hasn't been discussed for some time, but most of the people who know anything about computer hardware have completely written off the FLOP coefficients of both the Cell and the Xenos processor.
They are a terrible tool for deciding which piece of hardware is/will be faster.

are you poor? then why do you have internet and a pc to use it? most people who are poor arnt looking to buy systems anyways, the money could be well used in other places. im talking about lower-middle and up, the majority of people accually considering it. i dont even have a job but im getting a ps3. i dont care if the others are cheaper, they wont deliver what i want worth the price. the ps3 is being future proofed with hdmi 1.3, 1080p, and bluray. plus with all the extra features, i can do more than just play one game if its all i can buy at first. the other systems dont deliver any more than my pc, the same gameplay and same way to play over and over again. cept the wii with its wii-mote, but i really dont like it, my symmetry would be out of wack and there arnt enought buttons for fps's, one of my fave genres.
