Been trying to flash this box here this afternoon and i think i may have a standard RD232 cable as opposed to a null modem cable. Is there anyway to check this for certain.

The error message i get from the Kryptview loader is as follows. I've checked the comm port, its connected through a USB Serial adapter and its looking in the right port and the settings appear to be correct.

---------------------------
STB Editor
---------------------------
Can't open serial portCom4
Please check if the com port has the following parameters.
Baudrate : 115200bps
Parity: no parity
Databyte : 8 bit/data
Stop bit : 1

---------------------------
OK

Hi there,
First of all as this is my first post I just want to thank all the helpful people on this site - especially the experts. I have used this site for a couple of years now and never needed to post anything as all the information was there. Anyways I have flashed a few Kryptview boxes and all were fine but I have having problems with one. It seems to be the same problem that others have had on here. It keeps coming up with the download is not requested. Im using windows xp and I know I have it connected to the correct port ect. I just wondering if anyone had any luck resolving their problems with flashing. Especially those of you who have flashed a couple and it was just one that gave you trouble. Is there a master reset on these boxes? Not the factory restore. I was thinking of masters resetting it and then trying again to see if that would do any good. Any ideas would be great?

For the Kryptview you will need the Loader
which is Here.

Then you will need to download the Bin file which you can get Here. (updated)

Download both the loader and Bin file and save them to your Desktop.

Open the Loader
, once opened you will have a box load like this.

Click on the green download button,

Once you have pressed the download button you will see another box load like below,

Press open and select the Bin file that you saved to your desktop earlier highlighted in yellow,

Press open then the box will load like below with the Bin file selected.

Now turn off your Kryptview, press Start then turn the Kryptview back on. You should now see the firmware starting to load,

Once done you will see this message,

Once finished let the box reboot and then your done, congratulations.
just done mine with this guide worked a treat. nice post and tut hitek

Hi my pal down the road from me, has same box as me, has just informed me his box has been down for a good week nearly two, so i popped in and done a factory default, re-scanned it for him, pulled plugs out/put back in, checked all the leads etc but still no joy, also tried to do the s/w update but left it for a good 5 mins and nothing happened, tried to go back but it did not respond so had to turn box off then on again, any suggestions anyone, he got the box the same time as me from the same seller, mine is ok (barring the odd freezing of picture) but his is not. Have told him to leave it on Standby overnight then try it tommorrow, but any suggestions anyone

Bring the box to your house and see does it work there, and bring your working box to his house and check that, as you know you have a working box.

Thanks for response back from the last post, what is 'fw' for me to check on his box? If it is the Firm Ware, then i done his box the same time as mine as he brings it to me everytime they go down! Obviously they all were down recently and i updated his the same time as mine, but let me know if this is what you meant by FW?
