Ok, can somebody PLEASE give a damn straight answer about playing with a modchip? I have a V10 PS2 with a Magic V Mod chip. I can play originals online no problem in Sleep mode. I have never tried a back up in fear of being banned.
If I patch one of my backups, and play it WITH THE MODCHIP ON, Will I get a DNAS error or banned? How do you get unbanned if you do get banned?

1. if u patch ur backups, u will not get ban when goin online with ur chip on.
2. if u get banned, there's no way to get "unbanned".

I have a few questions. First, if Sony were to ban you, does it ban your playstation (so you wouldn't ever be able to play ANY game online again) or just the particular game you are playing at the time? If it bans your PS2 then I would hate to mess around with this. Second question, I heard somewhere that you can use the code from an original game that you have to use online for another game. Like say, for instance, use a Madden 2003 code from an original disc for the Madden 2005 copied game and have it still work. I was going to patch a few of my games but I think I want to wait and see the answers to these questions first.

If you read this thread, all your questions would have been answered.....
Banned: They can ban your PS2, but that's only when you cheat. If you get banned from DNAS, you get at most like a 3 hour ban and then you are good to go again. Not many people get banned if they aren't cheating, so you have nothing to worry about.
IDs: yes, you can use any original ID of the same region (US/J/PAL) with another game of the same region.

Thanks ThinkDiff for the reply. I read through the whole thread but did not see the answers to my specific questions. Sorry about that. Well at least that's good to know. I didn't want to get my PS2 permanently banned from online gaming or something.

If all of you have the original games why do you have your ps2's modded??? There is no point to mod your ps2 if you have bought the original games!!!

What do you mean by not lending your original. What if i rent the game from gameznflix.com. Am i gonna get my PS2 console banned just because I play this original cd online just after another dude who rent this game earlier than me and played it long ago?
What's the deal here?

Hey i have a question for you people that know how to get the dnas id off the disk. I used nero and just burned the files for the disc id utility on iso mode and i booted it with swap magic 3.3 and it just said, not a ps2 format disk. Is there any special way to burn the disc id utility. I know someone said to use alcohol insead of nero but what are the steps on alcohol,
PLEASE HELP PEOPLE THAT CAN PLAY BACKUPS ONLINE YOUR MY ONLY HOPE!!!!
