you all seem to be pting for the method which causes most problems.
i started out with mod chip and swap disk and l8er upgraded to the messiah 2.since then i have never had a problem playing any game.you dont have to worry about scratcing the disk cause you just stick the game in and play.

I was having the same problem with the flip top not reading the backup disk. If you appy pressure with your hand to the center of the flip top when you press X, it will usually work.
If you find out any other ways to fix this, let me know.

if the flip lid is out of alignment, (i.e. making a noise when the disc spins or won't boot) then adjust the white disc on the back of the flip lid by undoing the 2 screws and putting 2 x 1mm thick washers behind the black holding plate.
This should adjust it enough so it fits better and usually solves the problem.
There is a new Slimline Flip lid which works well with the Swap Magic 3.3 PAL and the new slimline PS2
We sell both at www.memtechsolutionsltd.co.uk

Hi,
I am looking at buying the swap magic disks v3.3 off of consolesource for my slimline ps2. Is this all that I need to play emulators, backups, etc or do I need something else with it? Also, on consolesource, it says that they will work with slight modification. What modification is it?
V12 PS2 - DMS4 SE PRO, Diode Fix, HDconnect, 320gb HD

They have the swap magic cd 3.3 now, and the DVD is 2.0. ANd yes they're real. And for your info, i heard that the new slim PS2 dont work with swap magic CD/DVD so you might wanna go with the old Ps2 (work with anything).
Hope this help !!!!

The new Swap Magic 3.3 CD and DVD works well with the new slimline.
You can adapt the slimline in a number of ways to be able to use the Swap Magic 3.3,
sticky tape (warranty voided)
new flip top (warranty voided)
straws!!! (warranty not voided)
new plastic tabs (warranty not voided)
www.memtechsolutionsltd.co.uk
Hope this helps

sticky tape was the first mod
straws were the second mod
flip top is fairly new
and plastic tabs are the latest gadget to allow you to modify the slimline without voiding the warranty

I have the Swap Magic 2.0 DVD Cd and the slide card and i Tried to play a PAL game (Driver 3) on my NTSC Ps2 System. Well when I used the Swap Magic DVD CD and the slide card, it goes blue and loads the game. But after it loads, the game goes flashing. i could barely see anything. And then when it goes to "loading" it freezes. Whats wrong? is it the Game?
