Hi I just started backing up movies with AnyDVD and DVD Shrink, and I noticed that all the commercials are not removed, is there a reason for this? Or is there a older version of AnyDVD I can go back to.
Thanks

AnyDVD cannot remove commercials and/or trailers on DVDs. It can skip them by going directly to the main menu, but it can't delete them. It never could. If you would like to remove these things, you'll have to rip the DVD to your hard drive, run the files through VobBlanker and blank out whatever you want to get rid of.

Thank you for the reply, usually what I did while backing up my movies was:
1. Copy to HD with AnyDVD
2. Shrink with DVD Shrink
3. Burn to DVD
After that process when ever I started a movie I wouldn't get the FBI warnings or the trailers, and somehow it would be all the way in the end of the movie. Am I wrong or was there a "remove adverts and trailers" option for AnyDVD?
thanks again

There is an option for that in AnyDVD, but it doesn't delete them permanently. By checking that option, AnyDVD bypasses all adverts and trailers and goes straight to the main menu or main movie. If there is an option on the menu to view the trailers, you can still watch the trailers by clicking on that.

You can also use DVDFab Decrypter in Main Movie only mode to rip to HDD removing menus and special features, adverts, trailers etc. when ripping. You can also remove all audio except AC3 5.1 and any subtitles you don't want while ripping as well and in some cases DVD Shrink isn't needed because you've removed enough content that the files require no compression. Here is a guide.
