i was watching the interview with Phil Harrison and he claims that if you change the settings on your ps3 to 720p even if you have 1080i,p you
will be able to get HD video fine in games.

funny i havent had this issues and the reason why is because sony rigged the ps3 to sony tv's and if you own a top of the line sony tv you don't have any issues but if you own a cheap junk tv what sony refers to samsung and other companys as then you will have trouble

I have a Hitachi 42" Plasma w/ a Monster HDMI cable. I think Hitachi and Sony are the only two companies that make their own picture tubes(but I don't know if that has anything to do with it working for us)

HEY well did you do the simple thing of checking your settings? 2) if this tv is capable of doing HDMI then i'd suggest to buy a MONSTER hdmi cable , you can find this in circuit city or ebay . 2nd best connection is componet which this tv does have

i dont know if the hdmi>dvi thing works on the ps3 and "if" it does i dont know the outcome of the quality. its layed out on you man and just decide on it
best > hdmi check your maneul on tv if it does have it check the back of tv
componet> 2nd best ok not 100% digital only super analog if your tv is HDTV then for sure it has this port
