That thread was for the "Beta" version. I was only posting a "Heads Up" that it was not "Beta" anymore.
Excuse Me Buddy, Just trying to be helpful as always.
As for myself,I see no need for this update, as the version 6.0.8.8 is working great for me. I am sure there are some that need this update though, Hence the reason I posted.

For the first time in more than 1,000 rips I've found a DVD AnyDVD can't seem to crack--and it's an old one. Communion with Christopher Walken.
Seems as if AnyDVD thinks it's removing a bogus title set but it's actually removing the main title. Anybody having this problem?
I'm getting this:
Summary for drive H: (AnyDVD 6.0.9.0)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 2020624 sectors (3946 MBytes)
Total size: 4001680 sectors (7815 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: Communion
Media is not CSS protected.
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1 2 3 4 5 6!

RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Found & removed bogus title set!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 4 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

if it's an old title you shouldn't need AnyDVD, just use DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter, or DVDFab Decrypter (though you shouldn't need this one either)

You should contact SlySoft support and send them the .ifo files from the disc (with AnyDVD disabled), so they can fix this.

Newbie here,

I have a question about the update, is there a noticeable difference when you upgrade to the latest version? I currently have 6.0.8.8 (previous version was 6.0.8.0) and it seems to be doing the job for me. Now, I read that there are already some issues with 6.0.9.0 which is deterring me wanting to update. Should I wait until another version is released?

On another topic, why is that clonedvd2's compression rate is lower than dvdshrink? For instance: I tried to burn Pirates of the Carribean and the original Star Wars movies and all of them, at best, are rated around 52%-55%. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As to your question about the latest AnyDVD update, 6.0.9.0, my opinion is this: There are no new copy protection fixes in this update. I see no need to update at this time either, because I am on 6.0.8.8 and it is working just fine. As for myself, I will wait & see what Slysoft releases next. I am taking the

As to CloneDVD 2 versus DVD Shrink. CloneDVD 2 is a much better transcoder/burner than DVD Shrink in My Opinion. I LOVE CloneDVD 2!
And I LOVE AnyDVD too! Together, they are unstoppable and very high quality software!

Thanks to all. What I did right after I saw that the real title set was removed was exit AnyDVD, copy the DVD to my hard drive using DVD Decrypter, and then use DVD Shrink to get it down to 4.3GB (perfect size if you ask me--no problem with disc edges that way). Since this was the first time I'd had a problem with AnyDVD I wasn't sure if the update was the problem or not. I did query Slysoft on 2 December 06, but haven't heard back from them yet.

Guys,
I honestly thing something's screwy in the new release of AnyDVD. I just tried ripping "Thinner" and I got the same thing from AnyDVD: "Removed bogus title set!" only it didn't remove the title set, it removed the main movie.
I just ripped it with DVD Decrypter (no problem) and I'm going back to the last version of AnyDVD (6.0.8.0?) prior to this new release.
Over 2,000 successful rips using AnyDVD and the only problems I've experience have been with this new release.

...maybe AnyDVD isn't up to date enough for this movie, the people at Slysoft whip up updates very frequently but it's always possible it's not up to date enough to cope with this movie.

what i think usually happens is you use the AnyDVD you have to rip the IFO files from the dvd and email them to slysoft so they can check if they need to update AnyDVD or confirm if it's already catered for...

My mistake--Thinner was not a new release. In fact, it's several years old. And had no copy protection on it at all PLUS it was only 3.9GB so I didn't have to shrink it. I made a byte-by-byte copy of this DVD after turning AnyDVD off and then tried both the original and the copy with AnyDVD turned on. Both of them showed up with "Removed Bogus Title Set") in the AnyDVD dialog box.
Then I used DVDShrink on it with AnyDVD turned on. DVDShrink copied it with 0% compression to 3.2GB. So what happened to the other .7GB? Was that the "bogus title set"?
It would appear I don't understand all I know about the make up of a DVD...all both copies play perfectly in a Bose 3-2-1, a Hitachi, and a Trutech. Methinks I need to find out exactly what a bogus title set is before I waste anybody else's time on here.
But I honestly appreciate the help.

It is the Stephen King one. And AnyDVD's newest release 6.0.9.2 fixed the problem with the bogus title set showing up. Is that great customer service or what?? Slysoft is most definitely the best thing going.
