I'm about to buy Slysoft AnyDVD + maybe CloneDVD2, but will CloneDVD work with HD-DVD or Bluray in the future or will I have to buy CloneHD-DVD or CloneBluray? I know Slysoft offers lifetime updates, and that Shrink won't work with these formats so... Is it worth buying CloneDVD with my AnyDVD purchase?
Thanks to all who take the time to reply, I appreciate your time and I hope I too will be able to give help and contribute to this great forum.

Hi Chocomog
For ease of use yes it is worth the $. Almost 1 click and will handle anything out there.
There are free tools that do the same - give or take on few options on each side - but it's all up to personal preference.
I have AnyDVD & CloneDVD but still use the free stuff too. Don't that AnyDVD won't handle them just use them for a change of pace :)
I don't think CloneDVD supports HD or Bluray now but I would think at point Slysoft will or have another program that does.
HD & Bluray is still to pricey all the way around for me :)

oh same for me at this point, but it would be nice that I wouldn't have to buy another program for them when it will be time (ex: Clone HDDVD or CloneBlueRay lol).

I almost bought CloneDVD Mobile at the same time to make Xvids of my movies for my laptop instead of bringing my DVDs with me all the time, but I didn't know much about this new software.

Hmmm maybe you should solicit those program names to slysoft - you may get a discount :)
If you have Nero - Nero supports Bluray and HD-DVD. Just need something to break the copy protection - guessing AnyDVD would do it.
Now how well Nero burns those formats I have no idea but by the time I use them they should be well supported :)
edit to add: I haven't used it - shouldn't be hard though. If you have Nero 7 (6 too but 7 offers PSP & iPod) you can convert to mp4 and reduce the size.

hmmm, I'm still using Nero 6 as I heard very very bad things about Nero 7. I have the latest Nero 6 (Jan 2006) though, but no Nero 7 yet...

Nah Nero 7 has come a long way - I use 6 on one and 7 on another.
But you can still use Nero Recode in 6 - use one of the Recode to Nero Digital options. Use can try the cd size under fit to target.
Give that a go for those you want to save to the laptop.
