there notes
- Note: It is recommended to use elby CloneDVD to rip instead of the
AnyDVD ripper, even if you prefer to use another program to compress
and/or burn (Set elby CloneDVD to DL burning and copy files to
harddisk).
thay say to use clonecd instead of the AnyDVD ripper...
the right click on the red fox in ye task bar will give ye the AnyDVD ripper..
CloneCD is the perfect tool to make backup copies of your music and data CDs, regardless of copy protection. CloneCD's award-winning user interface allows you to copy almost any CD in just a few mouse clicks.
Since the release of 5.0, CloneCD is not only able to copy CDs but also all DVD formats, such as DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R Dual Layer and DVD-RAM. The movies are copied 1:1 and therefore not modified (compressed). Note that to copy movie DVDs you also require AnyDVD.
CloneCD also works with other formats such as ISO and UDF files and copies CDs/DVDs with the new SafeDisc 3 Copy Protection System. CloneCD allows you to create perfect 1:1 copies of your valuable original compact discs. Should your copy-protected music CD not play in your car audio, the backup created by CloneCD will.
Slysoft combine knowledge and innovation with many years of experience and direct communication with customers to provide constant improvements, therefore making CloneCD the highest quality copying application around.

ireland, I'm confused. Can CloneDVD rip a css movie without AnyDVD running in the background. I don't believe so (why buy AnyDVD if it does). And if it can't, I don't understand what Slysoft is trying to tell us.

clonedvd by its self can not copy protected movies..or CloneDVD can not rip a css movie..........
Removes encryption (CSS,which is anydvd
quote slysoft web site on CloneDVD
Note that copying protected DVDs also requires AnyDVD.

I don't understand what Slysoft is trying to tell us.
they are telling ye that CloneDVD does a better job at ripping then the AnyDVD ripper..
to get to AnyDVD ripper,ye must right click the red fox in ye task-bar and select rid video dvd to hard drive.

ireland,
Thanks for the Calender! Also, I fully understood what Slysoft meant when they said rip to hard drive with elby CloneDVD 2. There IS a difference in "ripping" a CSS Movie and a non-CSS movie. AnyDVD makes it a non-CSS Movie. AnyDVD in itself is not a "ripper". I know that You know this ireland. I only state it for anyone that does not understand. AnyDVD DOES have a "ripper" included. Slysoft is saying to use CloneDVD 2 intsead of the included ripper in AnyDVD in order to rip to your Hard Drive before burning or encoding.

bunnyrip
you right,i guess i am tired
clonedvd rips the movie and AnyDVD Removes encryption (CSS) and region code
AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive,as we all know..
also AnyDVD is a ripper because of this.feature..
AnyDVD ripper,i been calling AnyDVD a ripper since they added the AnyDVD ripper feature..
cheers

Yeah. Even if I choose to use DVDRebuiler/CCE, I set CloneDVD2 (with AnyDVD running in the background as usual) to DVD+/-R DL and rip the whole disc by choosing DVD Files as the Output Method before processing with DVD RB.... Good stuff!!! Never used AnyDVD ripper.

I tried ripping Talladega Nights with AnyDVD and got the "Too many Navpacks" error:
I took a screenshot as it proceeded to lock up my computer:
