go to www.xbox-hq.com and get aid 3 ( its like slayers) burn it and install dvd2xbox , keep in mind stock hd will fit between 0 to 6 games ... depenidng on game , like halo 2 wont fit , you should upgrade hd and you dont need a modchip ...

Hey i followed the guide perfectly and it all installed finely but whenever im on the dash its in black and white with a red light on the front it all works fine and the games work well i just would like to know how to fix. Thanks.
P.S. Do you know how to make music play while you start a modded game on a modded dash do you just play a soundtrack and it keep going?
BTW is there any way to put modded xbox maps on without using FTP like by using AR?

maps i belive have to be burn in or ftped ... but plz dont ask about them here , an order to play burned music on games you can either do it the normal way thru ms dash or burn .mp3 and use xbox soundtrack editer...
as for the b/w colors are you PAL xbox?

ok guys, i modded my friends box and he left it unplugged for a while and he got the legendary error 16, it's softmodded with UX and it won't even load up to a game from what he's telling me. how the hell do i fix this one?

onthedge : if no game is bootable / or exploits then you HAVE TO hotswap w/out an eeprom
look under my signiture for the easiest hotswap ...

one problem though, i don't have a PC that doesn't freeze a drive. can i just unlock the HDD and then use the xbox HDD as a second drive? or can i even chip it to go around the error 16? i'm probably gonna wind up paying somewhat for a new xbox for him since he was considering it anyways, so will a chip work on it?
ok, here's a killer: what if i start up both my xbox and my friends to unlock both HDDs and then swap mine into his IDE to set his clock then reboot his with his HDD?

you can disable the primary ide drive and it wont freeze the drive ... and the sosftware will reconise the hd so it will work , its a fast fast work you can chip it sure thats wil tkae care of issues , if you unlock a softmoed xbox w/otu eeprom your screwd unless you get a chip ...

i know,i heard u say it about 1 dozen times, lol. btw, if i disable the primary IDE drive though, then it doesn't recognise any drive there at all. ok, so on the chip: will an Xecutioner 2.6 CE cover this probably? i'm just gonna buy it from the box from my friend so i can hard mod one and play live with the other.

do what u want but to recover the hd takes less then 3 to 5 mins... then you restart the softmod process with this sid 4 and u wont never have issues again due to the safe scritping sid 4 is .. as far as chip i dont have any hard moding experice but chip fixes it all , remember the dangers of installing one ,

ok, the thing with SID 4, that's what f'ed up my system already, it was installed with that on UX and it was left unplugged for as long as mine was and it wouldn't work when mine would. so WTF?

Hey, i need help really badly....i used the splinter cell softmod thing and it didn't quite softmod and when i turn on my xbox it goes straight to my old xbox dashboard it doesn't even say anything about the new one i installed but the weird thing is that my xbox light is red....and im trying to get on xbc and it wont work cuz its modded.....it wont find the game....please help me uninstall this mod...its like my xbox is just like it was in the beginning just my light is red...

ZhenYevan : your xbox is sucesfully softmoded , set the time and date correclty and re boot it. red = softmod active NOT safe for xbl
power it on via open tray and the circle led should be green = safe for xbl
... thats of course if u did dual boot = retail .. retail means for xbl
onthedge: if you did this softmod right and left it unplug the only thing it would ask is set time and date... unless you tamperd with the mod...
oh and if it ask to press A then do so .... but i didnt quite understood you mentioend osmetin bout 2 xbox?

when it flashes green n yellow eitehre your cable is unpluged or you need to press A
did you try setting the time then power off and power back on see weather the other dashboard loads???
did u put the dual boot=retail?

LMAO , why would you delte them? you would risk more breaking your xbox then leaving those files there , ok when you power it on normaly ( small pwoer button) whatn happens ? does it load ms dash is it red circle or green?

first we still got 2 know if your even softmoded or not , system link is when you have connected to other xbox; that is nto xbox live , and connection errors can be alot of things , wires firewall n such ... first we need to know if ur xbox is softmoded or not

how do i figure out if its softmodded or not....i dont play xbox live i play xbox connect its where you set up your xbox on a system link and play other people through that....i have done it b4 i softmodded my xbox

well you can tell me what you did after you press the A button when i t mentieond it needed to patch the C drive....
or to the point after you restarted with red circle with ms dash

help....when i go to do the crate ms backup thing it says that it has found modded files...what do i do???? can i delete these files so i can softmod it successfully....please help...ill do anything
