I'm having issues with DevHook 0.51 and I don't know if I'm the only one. When I load up games in 3.01, a lot of times after the gameboot screen I just get a black screen and the PSP shuts down. Also, I'm finding that some games that I was able to load in the chunglam launcher are not loading anymore in DevHook 0.51. Anybody have the same problem?

Are you at point in the guide before dumping the f0 folder? If you are, what you could try is getting the easy installer and copy over the psar dumper to your memory stick and see if you can boot into 1.50 to do the dumping.

take out the UMD disc and start HEND before you enter Devhook.

Hello, great site! Thanks KV for the tut. Everything seems to be working fine. I havent started to work on ISO's yet though.
My problem is that I bought a UMD Killzone: Liberation. It requires a 2.8x firmware to play it. I have 2.71 and I dont want to upgrade. So how do I set the devhook settings so I can play the umd Killzone that requires 2.8x firmware?
I already set the SFO version to 2.xx -2.00. I also disabled HEN(2.71). When I click start in DevHook and get to the new screen, I select the UMD game and it still tells me to update the firmware before I can play it.

Hey guys im back heheh.anyway wwe smachdown vs raw 2007 is out in gamestorrents.com but u have to find it yourself k....
@baldtco,you have to start the program called "usbhostfs_pc" in the folder "USBHOST_PCSERVER" that is given in the WinRAR.
must place an iso game in the "ISO" folder in "USBHOST_PCSERVER".when u start the program "usbhostfs_pc" an ms-prompt will pop-up dont close it,it is needed when u play through usb.ok connect your usb to psp and computer, now boot HEND and it will autoboot rite then boot devhook.over here u can choose your game too.just go to umd select.

Quote: G)Playing ISO THROUGH USB WITH USBHOSTFS
note:in this tutorial i am using windows xp and chunglams devhook.ok i know you guys will say the tutorial is long but this is in words that is long but actually it is very short when doing it.
1.Download this file:DAX_ZISO_Loader_USB_Tutorial_Pack_For_PSP.rar
link is here : http://vgdhandel.de/downloads/DAX_ZISO_L...ack_For_PSP.rar or
here is here : http://konsolenprofis.de/downloads/download2.php?id=1348
in this site you have to wait for it to load, then the download will pop-up
2.open the file with WinRAR
3.extract these 2 folders and 1 file "PC_DRIVER"folder,"USBHOST_PCSERVER" folder and "cygwin1.dll" file all to your desktop
3.cut and paste "cygwin1.dll" file to C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder.
4.connect your psp usb to computer then hold the "home" button for 3secs.
5.quickly scroll down using the analogstick to "USB MODE" in the menu, move the analogstick right to enter it
6.move down and choose "USBHOSTFS",move the analogstick right to enter
7.back to computer, you will see that it will detect a new hardware and will ask you to install.now in the wizard
there are three options choose the middle one then press next.
now there is 2 options choose "install from a list or specific location" then press next.
now here tick the box "include this location in the search:".
now click browse and find for the folder "PC_DRIVER" in desktop and click ok then press next,
it will be searching and will install this might take a bit long so don't worry about it.
there you go finish, now click on finish.
note: you can delete the folder "PC_DRIVER" in your desktop
8.now on desktop, open the folder "USBHOST_PCSERVER",place some psp iso game image in the "ISO" folder.
9.double-click on "usbhostfs_pc",this will open a command prompt written this "USBHostFS (c) TyRaNiD 2k6",just leave it coz this must be open when you are playing iso from usb.
10.get back to your psp, hold the "HOME" button for 3 secs the menu will appear.
11.quickly scroll down using the analogstick to "USB MODE" in the menu, move the analogstick right to enter it
12.move down and choose "USBHOSTFS",move the analogstick right to enter.
13.on your computer you will see that in the command prompt written this "Connected to device"
14.get back to your psp, press the "HOME" button you will only see the games in the psp.
15.quickly move your analogstick left twice and you will see the folder "ISO",quickly move analogstick right to enter it.now you will see the games that is only in your pc
note:some of the file doesn't have any thumbnail but you should know the name of the game of course rite.
16.now choose the game and play hahahahah
17.go back to play your games in your psp simply press the "HOME" button then move the analogstick left once then scroll down and find for the "iso" folder.quickly move the analogstick right once thats it.
I don't have a USB cable for my PSP so I use other ways to put files and stuff on my memorystick. Is there another way to do this without needing your PSP to be hooked to your computer? Can someone please help me?
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

You have to either buy a USB cable or you can also use a memory stick reader to copy stuff onto the memory stick.

What's a memory stick reader? Well, I'm going to try something and hope it works.
EDIT: Trying something failed

I can put files and other things on my memory stick, it's just that you need the PSP to be hooked up to the computer so you can use the devhook mode thing and go to the USBHost thing.
EDIT: But then, on http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/401672, it says Quote: GUIDE #2
Ahhh, ISO.. One of the best things you can hope to do with your PSP... ISO is a type of format that lets you play on your PSP..Or in other words, download PSP games to your PSP. There is a simple few steps to do this after you have installed your HENC and devhook.
GUIDE STARTS HERE
1.Download The ISO/CSO you want from anywhere. I suggest you download a Torrent.
2. In the ROOT of your memory stick make a new folder called ISO
3. Drag the ISO/CSO into that folder
4. Now boot up HENC
5.Now boot up Devhook
6.Now for the fw, choose 2.71
7.Then while you are still on devhook, click on UMD SELECT
8.choose your ISO or CSO that you have downloaded
9.press start.
So why can't I just put an ISO into an ISO folder and then get devhook to run it?

Hey guys im back heheh.anyway wwe smachdown vs raw 2007 is out in gamestorrents.com but u have to find it yourself k....
@dman33 umm ok i will make it easy.download the 1.50 us dump coz the jap one do not have a reboot.bin file k.get the us dump here http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/8,open the file with WinRAR then extract all the files to desktop.you will see two folders and one file like this flash0.flash1 and reboot.bin now just place it in your memory stick DH/150 ok wait for it to finish then now boot HEND and devhook.in the devhook menu set the firmware to 1.50 and do not touch anything and click on start.now an orange light must be splashing on the right of ur psp and u will be in 1.50 and it will say game could not be loaded something like that, just press X or O and now check your settings
@Creepn i think u can't play it if it is a umd coz it is not on ur psp ms.try playing it in 3.01 or u can rip it out of the umd using file assistant or umddumper.
@wicked4 are u using the old devhook or new devhook to load coz if u are using the new i think it does not work but the old should and must work.
anyway guys read properly as u can thxs,if u have myspace pls add me thxs...

All my GAMES are working in this FW3.01 and got no problems switching ISO games.
I was wondering are you also able to emulate firmware 1.50 also, cause I can't load multiple iso/cso files if I use 1.50 emulation with devhook 0.51.I'm sure it works without putting devhook 0.46 launcher on there, and the firmware 1.50 eboot. The problem is coming from the devhook 0.51 launcher for me,when moving the files over to emulate 1.50 .I need firmware 1.50 to run some apps that I normally use.I mean it is not really that big of a deal, but just saying when adding 1.50 emulation with devhook 0.51 it only lets me load devhook one time. After that I get prx file errors when trying to change a game.I don't know I will try to figure it out,but if anyone has devhook 0.51 and 1.50 emulation working fine and they can swap out games in devhook.I was wondering could you upload what you have on your system please on yousendit or something like that, cause I can swap out my F0 folder and have it work.

hi kealvalro
I did what you said but when i load devhook .51 it doesnt have the 1.5 fw option to choose. It should be under firmware in the devhook settings ....right? what did I do wrong? i followed your instructions.

lots and lots of questions... mmm here are mine:
1. what is this new 3.01 thing? does it mean that if i do it i can emulate fw 3.01 with the new devhook 51?
2. why do i need the old devhook then? there is a part where u say in the guide that we should put it back... why? why not stick with 3.01?
3. which one is the risky part of the process? only when u gotta flash? or the dumper is also risy?
4. if i mess with the flash memory...my psp won't be updated to 3.01, right? so what is it for? only to be able to emulate it? And the same process: hend, launch devhook, play iso...?
5. do u think there will be a way of putting devhook 51 without the messing with flash part? (like all the other versions where u only put the files the that's it, no risks)
thanx in advance

ANSWERS
1. Yes you can emulate firmware 3.01 with the latest DevHook, allowing you to play the latest games and also use the features of firmware 3.01.
2. You need to put back the old one because devhook 0.51 only emulates firmware 2.71 or higher. So in order to emulate 1.5 and use 1.5 homebrew you must use the old DevHook 0.4X
3. Dumping is as safe as running DevHook. i.e It is very safe. Flashing is not that dangerous, just keep the AC adapter plugged in and have a full battery and you should be fine.
4. Yeah it doesn't update your PSP. Yes you run it using the same process i.e HEND-->DevHook. However installing it is different as you have to dump the firmware yourself (as for firmwares higher than 2.8 the dump is unique to each PSP). The flashing part only writes a configfile to flash1. I think that makes emulated 3.01 DevHook more stable or something.
5. No you have to flash unless you have a firmware 1.5, then you can use the installer which doesn't require flashing.
@L-Burna
You can't emulate any firmware lower than 2.71 on devHook 0.51. That is why the guide tells you to copy back DevHook 0.4X as you need it to run 1.5 homebrew.
