You just picked up a week vacation for your snotty attitude and personal attacks on gus738 and DamonDash. If you can't handle differing opinions without pitching a hissyfit and calling names then I suggest you stay out of the conversation.

yeah you told me this before, i plan to buy a hd dvd from them this summer and if blu ray wins then i can just return it,
but i just wanted to ask you something alse regarding returns, whcih is that if you happen to break the item is it still refundable, like if i bought a sofa, but spilt some tea on it then would they still take it.

thanks in advance.

AlPujols thx for the link but i wasnt suprised for what i read , as i mentioend before plasmas are getting better oviously as tech gets better.

i still stand that the best tv for QUALITY not space saving or another factor is CRT TUBE . not rear projection , and the next big thing will be SED TV . the new sony sxrd are the best thing close to it considering the size and specs for todays modern tech.

sd72667 i had noting to do with your suspended nor i adviced anyone so sorry for the week man .

I don't have HD cable but i am willing to have an hd tv so in my case imo if i don't watch much tv on 16:9 screen and 90% of what i watch is on a screen 4:3 i am thinking about a Sony KD-36XS955 i saw one for $1000 the picture is great and i think it will be good enough for the 360 and the ps3 the only bad think is the weight lol. I know many people will choose a widescreen over a 4:3 screen tv but this tv at 36" will give me about 33" of HD screen and since the tv is for my room i think is enough plus i have many movies on the 4:3 screen plus i am not thinking about switching to hd any time soon or a least untill i have to absolutely have it. what do you guys think? is this a good investment?

Yeah, it sucks. Think EDTV means Extended Definition TV.

EDTV does not suck stand at an electronics store and look as closely as you want and you will only be able to tell a very small difference this is what i did a while back when i was about to buy my tv and didnt have alot of money to spend it may not be hd but i compared 2 42" samsung plasmas one hd the other ed right becide each other and could tell only a slight difference but go look for your self btw i bought the ed and everybody i show it to thinks its hd and once again not saying its hd picture im just saying that in my opinion it doesnt suck

and i forgot to mention that edtv is actually 480p not i and it will accept signals up to 1080p (im pretty sure may be 1080i only) but downconvets them to 480p

i did not say it sucks, btw you were not watching hd channels their is a HUGE very diffrense between an edtv vs a HDTV . its told to be 5x detaild cleaner sharper and so on . i have 1080i and i have a 27''
D series ( which is the highst in edtv capable of having digital channels atsc . ) and the diffrense is still quite a diffrense....

ill argree and say that it probably depends on the tv depending on how good the picture looks but im pretty sure they were hooked up to HDTV becuse thats what all bestbuys tvs are hooked up to and i could see that the 2 tvs i looked at were connected using hdmi cables which i know could also be connected to sdtv or edtv too but they werent becuse sdtv would have looked horrible and they both looked good to me im pretty sure bestbuy has their tvs connected to hd and yes it is 5x's better for hd and 2x's better for ed all....i ment by that is if you see an edtv that looks good go by what you see not by specs (in most cases)

I have an Optoma HD81, the most amazing thing Ive ever seen on a screen.
I have a motorized screen. The setup was easy, the picture is incredible.
First thing I tried was dirt for the 360, force feedback wheel etc. Felt like I was there
oh yea the projector set me back a bit, but its not a game, its an experience
if you have the space and size, there are some icredible deals on projectors right now.
you really dont have to have 1080p. If you get one with a good interlacer, 1080i still looks incredible.

actually EDTV is an acronym for enhanced definition tv
some tvs only display output of 1080i but still look better than some cheaper 1080p sets
also, people say 1080p is better, etc etc
it really does depend on your tv or projector
Its like saying a 5 liter car is faster than a 3 liter
lots of things need to be taken into consideration

do some research on websites like http://www.projectorreviews.com or http://hdtvmagazine.com
DLP technology has gotten better, bulbs are promised to last longer (though yet to be seen) OLED and (if ever) SLED are also on the verge of breaking out, though still have lifespan issues. And the LED backlit LCD tvs are now available. There is a lot to choose from.
Plasma has increased dramatically over the last 5 years. Bit of a bummer to those who just had to buy one right away.!
Almost no burn in now caused by a good plasma set, and the brightness "half life" is over 10 years on many. (and it will still look much brighter than a standard tv)
but, they still whack out heat and burn up the juice!
