why are you quoting your sig?
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Ahh yes classic indeed my friend .Looks like my fist post here....oh wait it is my first post here or at least half of it lol.
I kind of agree still believe it or not.The bluray does present an added value and sega in terms of games wasn't very good. The only good exclusive that comes to mind was sonic. As a hardware maker they were tops but in terms of games they slack compaired to the other 3.
Sega did try to sell themselves a few times but never amounted to an entire take over of the company as was originally expected.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega from the "2001 and beyond" section
Quote: In 2003, Sega fell on extremely hard times, and after the death of CSK founder Isao Okawa in 2001, who spent over US$40 billion to help Sega, CSK put Sega on the auction block. The first suitor was Japan's Sammy who discussed a merger, but plans fell through. Discussions also took place with Namco, Bandai, Electronic Arts and Microsoft. In August 2003, Sammy bought the outstanding 22% of shares that CSK had, and Sammy chairman Hajime Satomi became CEO of Sega. With the Sammy chairman at the helm of Sega, it has been stated that Sega's activity will focus on its profit-making arcade business rather than its loss-making home software development.
During the middle of 2004, Sammy bought a controlling share in Sega Corporation at a cost of $1.1 billion, creating the new company Sega Sammy Holdings, one of the biggest games companies in the world.
Ahh links to another site in the sig tisk tisk....ahaha lol j/k.

Now Bandai I like (recently merged with Namco, which is considering a future merger with SquareEnix), and Namco & EA. But Microsoft? F*** that. If the House that Sonic Built ever sold out to Bi11 Gate$$$ i would do terrible things. No Micro$oft, thankful that Sammy was the winner in the bidding war. Or firesale, however you look at it.

I agree with xhardc0re 100%
That would be a dark day to see sega sell out to microsoft.Anybody else but them would be fine with me(to a certain extent).I hope sega does better with the next sonic so they can get back on top where they used to be :)
edit :BTW I love sonic and the next one looked impressive at E3.

SEGA needs to get things together by bringing back the franchises that made them million$$$. Like:
Panzer Dragoon
Phantasy Star (not the crap that they're using, but the older character designs & plot)
Streets of Rage (yeah! Double Dragon on Genesis but better)
Nights (Saturn game that still looks incredible compared to GameCube/Xbox/PS2)
House of the Dead (could get a remake but has to go beyond Resident Evil, which ripped off the original idea from Splatterhouse anyway)
maybe Altered Beast in a totally 3D world w/X-men like superpowers.
There are more classics but i can't think right now.
The only new SEGA game i'm excited about is Yazuka. They call it GTA meets Final Fight. I think it's much better, as long as the non-fighting scenes are as good as GTA's were. Let's see what SEGA does on PS3 w/the first 4 titles I mentioned. They're all due for an update.

Streets of rage was awesome I played all three back in the day.I never got to play nights or panzer dragoon unfortunately.Back then we were poor as hell, but my friends had streets of rage and lots of other games so I used to go over a play.
Does anybody remember toe jam and earl and golden axe?
Golden axe rocked when I was a kid.
