OK I MANAGED TO UPGRADE TO OEB AND ISOS WORK!!!!! BUT I CANT GET NORMAL HOMBREW TO LIKE MY GBA EMULATOR AND INFRARED REMOTE WHATS WRONG?

When i go to make the .dexar file, the psp screen says can not open file. then takes me back to the XMB screen. If i continue and try to run the 3.02 OE-A firmware install, it tells me corrupt .dexar file or no .dexar file. I tried what gzach said with holding R while booting up, but i get the same errors. Also the .dexar file size is 0kb. I'm feeling thats wrong.

Also, what am i sposed to do with the flash recovery folder? In the guild it doesnt say anything about it. I have been reading other strands that talk about it. Right now im very stuck going from 1.50 to 3.02 oe-a. Plz help me and like i said im dumb so be specific. thx again

dont dounble post, use the "Edit" button.
The DATA.DAXR file should not be 0kbs.
get the "1.50 eboot" and the "3.02 eboot"
Put it in the folder called "OEUPDMAKER" and rename them like this:
150.PBP
302.PBP
Run the OEUPDMAKER on your psp like it was nay other homebrew and it will generate your DATA.DAXR. When its done it will go the the XMB

Sorry for the double post, i couldnt find the edit button. I found it though. Alright so i did what you said, but im still getting the error "cannot open 150.PBP file" any ideas why its telling me that?
EDIT_ I renamed both files and put them in the folder you specified. And when i run the install the screen goes black with the little print, and when its trying to make the .dxar file, thats when it tells me cannot open 150.pbp file.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM SO I DOWNLOADED THE 3.02 OEA EASY INSTALLER FOR 1.5FW AND SINCE IT WOULDN'T INSTALL ON MY PSP AND FREEZE AT 37% I DOWNLOADED IT TO A DIFFERENT FOLDER AND COPIED THOSE FILES TO THE ROOT OF MY MEMORY STICK AND IT WORKS FINE AND I UPGRADED TO OEB. AND TOURAN 22 I CANT GET HOMEBREW TO WORK ON 3.02 OEB MY GPSP 0.9 WONT LOAD OR ANYOTHER STUFF I TRY DO U KNOW WHY?(ISOS WORK PERFECTLY)

Just did this and it works great. "2.71_TA-082_-_1.50.exe" is actually just an archive. What I did was extract the files somewhere on my desktop. You end up with 6 files and a folder named PSP. I copied all of these to the root of my PSP memory stick. I'm sure you could also just browse to you PSP's memory stick root and hit install (which is what the guide was implying I think). After that I just followed the rest of the guide starting from the "loading HenD" part.
After I ran the downgrader, I got the blue screen with a bunch of text in different languages. I just pressed the O-button and it rebooted my PSP and loaded up firmware 1.5. I also formatted my memory stick before doing the upgrade to 3.02 OE-B.
I'm now running 3.02 OE-B perfectly. Thank god the PSP community is as good as it is. Now I can play PS1 games tomorrow while I'm completely hung over =). Thanks guys.

because u have done something wrong. i promise you. rename both of them for the sake of it! if one is .PBP the other should also be in capitals. if the PC automaticly reads the eboot as a .PBP then just rename the eboot to 150 and 302.

Here's what the readme files says in the 302OE.rar file that this guide uses.

- OE runs all homebrew from the /PSP/GAME302 folder using the 3.02 kernel.
Homebrew here have to be NOT kxploited.
- To run applications with the 1.50 kernel, and have about 99% compatibility with current homebrew,
put those applications in the /PSP/GAME150 folder.
Homebrew here can be either kxploited or not.
Now the standard folder, /PSP/GAME can be configured in the recovery menu to either execute 1.50
homebrew or 3.02 one. (by default is set at 3.02)
So all you really do is put your 1.5 homebrew in your /PSP/GAME150 folder because the /PSP/GAME folder is, by default, for 3.02 homebrew. You can change this in the Recovery menu by holding the R-button at start up

First stop writing in caps.
Secind, go into recovery and then into configuration. set the GAME fodler to 1.5 kernal.

Hey all, first want to thank you all [Euro_Stylz/Touran22/DA/everyon else] for all the help through the forum. I just got a 2.71 TA-082 and have been reading the forum night and day.
I want to run isos/homebrew/PS1 games on my PSP. I followed kealvalro downgrading guide here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/399310. I got it all to work [HEND/devhook 0.52/FW 1.5/etc.], but then came across this guide thread that seems to be a cleaner, easier process. Here's my noob question: Which guide do you guys suggest is the best and easiest to understand for noobs like me?
I definitely want to move on from being a noob, but would appreciate your thoughts.

so has it been confirmed that all bricked psp's is from human error,or is there a compatibility issue where some psp models are more downgrade friendly
are there any other tips to ensure a safe downgrade,
and is upgrading to 3.02 dangerous?

Hi a few questions ....
if i upgrade to 3.02 OE-A or B can i still play GBA roms? cos if i am not wrong it needs v1.5 to play.
And do i still need to put any UMD disc in the slot?

anyone have another link for the 2.71 - 1.5 easy installer.? megaupload doesnt seem to be working for me.?
maybe its good if the installer was uploaded on diff sites. for eg

yh everything! the only thing you should have in your root is PSP and ISO <--- if u dont have ISO make one beacuse all your games go in ISO
