To my knowledge, only 3.03 Official firmware and lower are currently downgradable. So you're going to have to wait for a new downgrader.
A .rar is a compressed file (like a .zip), you can extract them using WinRAR, just google it, free download. Rar's are used on your computer, not your PSP.

no you cannot downgrade from 3.30 youll have to wait until a downgrader is released, also, .rar files are opened by a program walled WinRAR, u have to dl and install it

glad to hear your psp is at 2.00. there are several versions that can be downgraded, but DO NOT go higher than 3.03. at that version you can use the umd for GTA:liberty city stories, thats the easiest way for me, but i also think there are some for 2.8-ish, not sure tho just search the forums to be sure dude, but again if you upgrade do not go higher than 3.03 or youll lose your chance of 3.40OE-A

I think they do have a 2.00 downgrader but it isn't very stable...i would just upgrade to 2.71 or like you said 2.6/2.5 and downgrade from there. Good Luck.

Oh Yay thanks it worked. But I tried to load a saved game file from a while ago but it says the Saved Data is corrupt. Any idea??

not sure about the gba emulator game saves
but the snes ones go in PSP->GAME150->'__SCE__SNES'->SAVES
that just how mine looks but be sure you have it in that saves folder
if its still corrupt then iono wat it could be

I also couldn't use the web browser on 3.40 oe. Every time i start it, it would go to a blue screen that says Setting info is currupted in different languages than I have to restart the psp. Is this a prob with 3.40 oe or is it just me?

i think it might just be a few people, ive heard of this problem before I THINK, search AD forums for 3.40OE-A Problems and i think you might find out how to fix it somewhere
my internet browswer works fine on two psp's using 3.40OE-A

I just got my psp to a 3.40 oea and i'm coming across all these problems. Mayb its just me that i don't know how to fix. But heres another.... My psx games won't load!!! oh and another...when i go to the recovery mode and then configurations, its a blue screen with nothing and freezes....

damn seems your having ALOT of problems, you might wanna consider downgrading to 1.5 then to 3.03OE-C

o0o i dont know....
the one time i did go back to 3.03OE-C (i didnt backup my flash0 files) i went all the way to 1.5 then 3.03OE-C. there might be a way just search the forums

My 3.40 has been fine so far (knock on wood). Why did I even upgrade from 2.71 with devhook? What's so good or different about this?

Hey Guys
Ok i sure you are sick of these questions....but i would appreciate your help. I have a psp vsrsion 2.82 TA-082. If i upgrade with this OE version will i be able to play homebrew and also iso games?

ok i was at 2.71, downgraded to 1.5 and now I have the installer for 3.40 oea and in the read me it says "Get the 1.50 and 3.40 Sony updaters (of any region, because all are
currently the same), and copy them in the oeupdmaker directory with the names 150.PBP and 340.PBP. " can anyone translate this?? where do I get the 1.50 and 3.40 Sony updaters?
