just get an easy installer but if u have linux or mac or anything besides windows u can get the updates at the official playstation

I've downloaded the umdgen but not sure how to use it? I cant seem to find the umd in my psp.?

I'm new to all this. I just got my psp a little while ago. I updated my system to 3.11 to play a demo.. which didnt even work by the way. :/
Anyhow, I realize from reading that the downgrader isn't available yet for 3.11. However, I was wondering if this new 3.30 or 3.40 custom fw is something I can just upgrade my fw with. Or, is it necessary to downgrade to 1.5 first?

I'm pretty sure you need to downgrade to 1.5 first then upgrade to the 3.40 0e-a but if theres now downgrader for the 3.11 then your stuck untill one becomes availabe.

that program isnt supposed to find the acctual umd game, umdgen is ment to make iso or cso images from files u downloaded

same thing I had. turn off your psp and then hold the r1 button and turn it on. it'll start in recovery mode then go to cpu speed. change that to 266 or whatever the next setting is. Mine started to work after I went to 266.

Ok what is "3.40 OE-A" I bought a psp about a week ago and it was @ 2.81 I went online to check out some the net , I saw that there was a update on the sony website so I updated to 3.40. Is that OE-a if not what is then & can Get it?

damn bro i feel sorry for you...
3.40OE-A is exactly the same as the official sony 3.40 except that its a custom firmware so that you can do homebrew, like snes emulators and all that
you cannon do that on the 3.40 you just upgraded to and there is currently no way to undo it...so youre stuck there

Hey immi80 the reason you cant play ratchet and clank is cause you need to change your umd(or the other one besides xmb, i cant remember what it is right now because i dont have my psp on me) speed (in recovery mode) to at least 266, i had the same problem

can some one tell me how to downgrade my psp, right now i have ver: 2.81 and i tried psp-hacks.com but all of their downgraders didnt work, do i just need to load in gta: lsc? or where can i find something that works? Please help

if u can get gta:lcs unpatched..then use that downgrader
you will need an unpatched gta:lcs umb and official sony firmware 3.03

sorry buddy, unpatched has 2.00, you can try ebay or ask ur friends, a used game store sometimes still carry it, just ask whoevers working that you need it 2.00, there usually really kewl and know watcha want it for lol
