^^ Agree.

I've also noticed what Creaky was saying about DvdFab staff closing threads over at CdF. There's a lot of whipsering and speculation from members right now. Here and there.

And Creaky, you're not the only one who's suspicious. I think we all have a touch of that right now.

I bought already, so hopefully i'm set. I didn't want to take any chances. Especially since a clear cut, black and white answer to these multiple questions is not readily available.

This is important to those who have not bought DVDFab yet.

All the drama could just be to drum up sales before the free ripper version is no longer available. Of course this is all speculation until something happens or questions are answered. Unfortunately I've already bought AnyDVD and don't see a need for two pay programs that really do the same thing...I've been using the free DVDFab HD Decrypter for over a year now, leaving AnyDVD to collect dust so if the free version falls to the wayside I'll just fall back on AnyDVD.

Cheers, downloading the new update.

7thsinger - cheers for the link/info, hadn't had chance to do any more digging over at cdfreaks; seems all is ok provided Platinum is bought prior to May 8th. I'm happy enough, (as i've posted somewhere previously, somewhere) i don't and probably won't use any of the features (other than normal movie ripping) in Platinum, i only bought it to say thanks for all the time i'd used the freebie version.

Creaky - That was a huge part of my decision to purchase as well. I'd been kicking it around for a while when this was formally announced. Needless to say...it sped the process up a bit.

As far as the other features, i may use a couple of them, but certainly not often.

I'm certainly pleased with it.

The latest ver. 5.0.1.2 will now run on linux with Wine. I have managed to get both the Platinum trial as well as the free ripper to work, great news for us Linux users.

7thsinger,
I believe the reason your update links are flawed is because you are copying the entire page from cdfreaks then pasting it on this thread. The download links on that page have been abbreviated with an ellipse(...). For example, your link ends up looking like this: http://www.dvdfab.com/download/DVDFa...angate-689.exe
with the ellipse in the middle, when it should look like this:
http://www.dvdfab.com/download/DVDFab5015Beta_avangate-689.exe
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the updates anyway.
