I'm newbie here.
Bought a Wii, and WiiKey following recommendations of this thread.
My WiiKey was REAL, and it was professionally installed.
I updated..indirectly. I got up on the 7th, and went to check the weather, it said it needed to update me. I got no warning screen. I figured it was a update just for that area. It was not. Obviously, it was the 3.0U update.
My WiiKey setup disc does not work anymore.
My Wii came with the 2.2U Firmware
All the games that I had backed up before the 3.0 update still work. (21 of them)
When I go to the firmware update screen it asks for me to accept the update (disclaimer). I have not done that.

Scary, i forgot to check the web before i updated my firmware to 3.0.
I have a WIIKEY and after i updated, IT DID NOT WORK!
I tried loading Strikers right after the upate, it gave me the error msg to check the wii manual or something.
but after i rebooted. it was fine! i only tried strikers charged online and it works fine. phew..i was scared for a sec.
So the update doesn't brick ur wii..yet. i did not get that warning msg

For those not getting the I ACCEPT message this only occurs after you have updated to 3.0 firmware version.
So if you where at 2.2 version and updated to version 3.0 you would not get that message.
If your at 3.0 firmware and you check again to make sure everything is updated you will get the warning about Modded systems and you need to click on "I ACCEPT" for you to connect to the network to check for an update.

God what a load of pointless posts this thread has...
anyway I have a PAL Wiikey modded Wii
Recently I have installed Version 3.0 and also the very latest "internet channel fix" update.
YES there is a problem I discovered that my Wiikey Boot disc doesn't work anymore - which means I can't toggle the region lock on or off!!
Unfortunately I had not set to multi region so I cannot play US games on my Wii unfortunately.
Annoying esp as US have a released date for MP3!!
So beware - I am not sure if it was the V3.0 upgrade or the "internet channel fix" update that has caused this problem.
Can other users please try their boot discs and post results here?
Thanks
Stu

The boot disk thing is a known problem and there are workarounds but you already know that as you've obviously thoroughly searched the boards.

Mark rather than flame me, I would suggest you read that my post contributes to THIS thread. It happened today AFTER i installed the latest update, so I posted to warn people as this is the kind of imformation they want to know.
So give it a rest and at least post something that actually contributes to THIS thread, or don't bother posting here at all.
But I feel you will have nothing better than to post another flaming message here so go ahead and amuse us all:)

You asked users to post their experiences with the setup disks, which they already have, many times, in many threads.
If you'd have read this thread you would see that I have already contributed to it.
Keep pratce.

The problem occurred after the first 3.0 update. The Internet/Lan Adapter update didn't come out till last night. People where having issues a few hours after they updated with the first 3.0 update. You can also boot your Wiikey set up disc with a GCoS boot disc.
You can get the GCoS boot disc from the link below. After you boot up the GCoS boot disc in your Wii all you need to do is swap that with your Wiikey setup disc.

As to the little tiff your having with Mark187. I think the main reason he has voiced his opinion was the comment your made that said "God what a load of pointless posts this thread has" The fact of the matter is this thread is for All Modchips and what the results are after the 3.0 update.
So what makes anyone else's post more pointless then yours? Having an attitude like that will get you no where on this forum.

I have official wiikey installed, and latest wii update, dl'd 4 games, they all show up on the main screen, but when i try load 2 of them, (zelda and call of duty 3) the screen goes black. No error msg, jus a black screen. Are these bad downloads, or do i need to change som settings with the setup disc. Prior to my me updating my wii, i also changed to region overide on, so dont think thats the prob.
Any help plz

What region are the games and what region is your Wii.
If the games are the same region as your Wii then you should have no problem.
If the games are of a different region then it is possible the game disc are not region compatible.
below is a region compatibility list...
