Hi,

I am posting this question again as IT IS DIFFERENT to my request of an issue in the shrinkdvd section, so please do not close it.

I want to know how long i should expect for a dvd to be ripped USING AnyDVD.

I set off a movie last night at 10.45pm and by 8am this morning it had only processed 3%.

By any reckoning I would think that an unreasonable amount of time.

Generally speaking how long should it take ? and what pc hardware factors will affect it ?

Thanks
Mark

any ideas as to where i should be looking with regard to solving why this is taking so long ?

is it likely to be software or hardware related ?

i am totally new to this so would appreciate any guidance.

thanks

ripping a DVD shouldn't take long at all..... 10-15 mins with a fairly new computer (about 3 yrs old or younger) is the norm. Newer computers do it faster. AnyDVD, DVDDecrypter, DVDFab HD Decrypter..... these programs should rip the movie in these time frames........ if not then you might have a DMA issue.... try this and see if it help with your ripping times:

yeah your drive probably slipped into PIO (which slows it down bigtime) mode and it needs to be in DMA mode use the guide IHoe posted
