Just had ultimate home cooked meal. Old friends from Navarre Beach, Florida descended upon us for Mardi Gras. They brought a gallon of select raw oysters; with which we made Oysters Bienville and also raw oysters. Also brought 1lb jumbo lump crab meat for crab meat au-gratin and we had a beef tenderloin roast on the pit. Some St Michelle Cab and Merlot and nice green salad and corn and fresh French bread. Not to mention a King Cake! It's time to go to bed! LOL Life is good.

@grandpaBW
I also prefer 8/12 Jumbo Shrimp (something wrong with that term) over prawns. They are also fresher here.

Yeah the gar likes his lobsters. But never had them griddle pan fried. Seems like that would overwhelm a lobster's delicate taste.

Garmon,
then you need to try it ! This is how they do the lobsters in Puerto Nuevo Mexico. Lobster crispy on the outside, and moist, juicy and tender (delicate) on the inside. Incredible !

@greeny
Don't worry about Endo, he'll run away if Jo just looks pi$$ed! Also the wife is still hungry for crawfish (my buddy who came with his wife for weekend festivities and I ate the leftover from Thursday, while they were parading Sat. LOL She was hopping for that tonight. So she is searching for CFish as I type. Kinda hope she scores!
@Jo
gm is correct, I'll try anything once. I actually had a bite of Chilean Sea Bass Fri at a restaurant(I hate fish) but it was good and didn't taste like fish. My daughter, a chef, cooked it to perfection I was told. The lobster does sound good.
Edit: I don't know if we all get the same ad in every thread, but the one above for me were the same lady's face before and after wrinkle remover. In reality it looked like an after and before methamphetamine pics.LOL

Garmoon,
chilean sea bass, aka tile fish, is high in Hg,Pb,As,Cd, other heavy metals and pesticides, along with PCBs, and dioxins. Best left uneaten.
Endo is ok, he just listens well to Jo.
Have you ever tried Basa fillets before ? White fish fillets and non fishy !
good eating !
Jo
BTW so when is this lobster feast with you and gm ?

Lobster feast sounds great. I thought I was having tiny lobsters tonite. Wife found some crawfish and got home and ready to cook them; opens the bags and they had a fishy smell. Took them back and now it is shrimp, crab and oyster gumbo. oh well it's gumbo weather here and tomorrow is Mardi Gras.
Jo
I hate to tell you, but just about everything that goes in your pie hole is adulterated. Whether genetically engineered, or contaminated with antibiotics, growth hormones,toxic chemicals or the like. Kind of like the air we all breathe. Why do you think they are spending the social security money? No one will be around to collect it.

Garmoon,
you are absolutely correct up to a point. While there is no need to temp fate as when there are alternatives. So I forgo tile fish and eat smaller fish (healthier)
When endo and I do have beef, I insist on grass fed non growth hormone, no antibiotic beef (comes from Montana and Wyoming). Costs more, but I know it is the best for both of us.

Yeah Jo, but can you be positively 100% sure that you're getting what you think you're paying more for??? The Bernie Maddoff investors thought they were getting primo too!!!Now they can't afford a BigMac much less w/o antibiotics and hormones. And we thought we were getting safe peanut butter. Something that is actually good for one. Every 6 months we get the "poisoned-with-E.Coli_vegetable" of the year. Our food supply is NOT safe and is underchecked. And f-ups are paid off! Just because it says natural- growth hormones are natural and feces makes wonderful natural fertilizer. Bon A petite everyone!

Garmoon,
the Bernard Madoff story was one of greed. He promised all his investors 12 % returns per annum, reguardless of the market. No one could do that. Greed took over and the investors tried to get something too good to be true, and it was. True, out food sources are suspect, but is that a reason to be cynical about everything ? I don't think so. I will continue to do what I believe is right, and you will do what you believe.

Happy Pancake Day! What do you like on yours! I like mine with butter, sugar, and lemon juice! :)
I can eat about four or five big pancakes, no more than that. I bet endo and gm and rtm could go a few more than that though! If jo lets endo of course! ;)
