I've gotten tired looking at my guide and seeing it not in perfection. I don't seem to be good at creating guides. I have reached a 16 page thread which I started and I feel good about it. The following link is practically like an upgrade to this guide.

Before you read this, I'm going to tell you that I have no experience whatsoever for opening a PSP battery. I have collected lots of information from different sources, and I have had people successfully using this guide. I have recently updated this guide for easier installation. Apart from the topic, I have change around 80% of the guide(using a wider option of vocabulary), hoping it leads to easier success in opening your PSP to the world of homebrew. Good luck.

I decided to create this guide because I've helped lots and lots of people that has firmware 3.52+, to create the Pandora's battery.
I'm now tired of typing the same thing over and over again.

OK, so this guide is to help you create the Pandora's Battery without a CFW enabled PSP.

Requirements:
The TotalNewbi Easy Installer.Click here.
A FAT PSP battery.
A memory stick PRO duo - Over 128MB but under 2GB.
Winrar.

1)Extract the TotalNewbi Easy Installer .rar file.

2)Start the .exe file up, with your PSP connected.

That's just a picture telling you that the instructions are very clear and I'm sure that anyone can follow it. If something goes wrong, ask me, I'll test it on my memory stick if someone needs help.
3)Go through the procedure, as I'm sure that it's easy enough to understand.

4)If are using a Slim, choose 3.71M33. If you're using a FAT, choose either one.
*Note* Dark Alex has created a 'time machine' to downgrade Slims into 1.50. Go to Dark Alex's site if you want to use this.

5)YOU MUST USE A FAT(old) PSP BATTERY TO DO THIS! In order to do the next step, you need to be confident and calm.

6)Now, this is the hard part. Open your FAT battery. But before you open it, make sure the battery is the right way up. Now, cut the 5th pin from the battery.

The pins start from the bottom left and up. So pin 5 should be the bottom one on the right..... Depending on how you hold your battery.
Make sure when you cut the pin 5 , do not touch pin 6 at the same time or your battery gets fried.

7)Simply close your PSP battery with glue or tape, I'd use tape.

8)Place your newly created magic memory stick into your PSP, and then place your converted battery into your PSP. Your PSP should boot up automatically, if not, switch your PSP on manually.

9)The options should be fairly clear. It's recommended to back up your nand file using the PANDORA'S BATTERY(1.50). I don't think that you should backup your nand using the Universal Unbricker V3, as it's not as safe.

10)Once you've chosen the 1.50 downgrade or 3.71 re-flash, wait until all the text stops. It should say something like 'Downgrade completed. Restart in 7 seconds.' As long as you see that, you're fine.
And do not close your PSP when you're re-flashing your PSP.

11)I recommend you to upgrade your PSP to 3.90M33-2. If there's a new stable custom firmware, then upgrade to that.

[Extra]This is highly recommended, so you get to use your PSP battery as a normal one, and JigKick. The following link will take you to a guide that explains how to create a UPMS(Ultimate Pandora Memory Stick). You should have 2 memory sticks, to use the full of UPMS. A 512MB and 4GB. You can replace the 4GB with a 2GB or 1GB, but the 512MB is a must. So anyway, you install the UPMS into your 512MB. Al will be explained in the link. By the way, place your pin back into your battery if you want to install the UPMS.
So, here's what to do:
Upgrade your 1.50 PSP into a 3.40OE-A.
[If you upgraded to 3.71M33, just keep it at that.]
Place your pin back into your battery.
Download the UPMS file onto your 512MB.
Install as the guide says.
Then, if you have any questions about the UPMS, ask dEEz_nUtz.

Note that the 1GB, 2GB and 4GB recommended cards are for using your firmware, for example, ISOs and CSOs, or PSX. I will not go into detail on what those are.

NOTE**
If cutting the 5th pin in your battery doesn't work, then it means it's either a fake battery or you've cut the wrong pin. Place the pin you've cut out(wrong pin) back into your PSP. Keep cutting and placing the pins until it works. If you've tried everything, then it means your battery is fake.

UPDATE---1
If you don't want to open up your battery, then you can purchase the Datel TOOL battery. The battery is bright red/orange and is in service mode(Pandora). But you still have to use TotalNewbi Easy Installer to create your MagicMS.

!!!Warning!!!
Make sure you use the OLD PSP batteries! The new ones are patched. If you can't get your hands on an old an genuine battery, then you could still purchase the Datel TOOL Battery.
