Well hmmm, I just did it and only cut pin 5 and I can confirm that my battery doesnt work now.

on pspfanboy.com it says that wire must be soldered on/or by IC04, and there is no mention of cutting any pin.

I actually already had a custom firmware, and used the flashing method. Just thought it would be easier and a precaution.

Does the green light come one when you put it in, or is there nothing at all?

Ok, I did the battery work, and somehow the battery charge went from full to 1% and would not keep a charge. So, when I tried to start up with MS the need for 50% battery noticed posted and turned off. I put the shotty battery back in started up with the MS installed. At the selection menu I switched the shotty battery with a normal on. Gave me an error about corruption and to press O to reinstall. I pressed O and know have FW 1.50 installed. Wooo hooo.

My charger was plugged in the whole time.

Props to Kikzm33z, and big thank you to LeadBaron.

BTW to all..I would recommend buying the service battery. That was way to much work for a shotty battery. But it worked :)

Hey, can i use "pandora battery creator" instead of taking the battery apart?
Only if you have a PSP that has custom firmware on it. If you one PSP that's on official firmware then this method is your only way or you'll have to buy/borrow one.
so that mean easier to create pandora battery using PSP with CFW, then where can i find a "pandora battery creator"? Can u guide me to do this?
Google could've linked you to around 50 guides or more about the Pandora's Battery.
If you have a CFW enabled PSP, then this guide should help you. It helped me.

Does it matter that my MS is a 2GB one? I'm curious because I'm about to create my Pandora and I don't want to lose use of both my battery and my MS.

Oh, and about cutting the fifth pin and re-attaching the case of the battery, do you absolutely need that soldering thing?

Ehh I must be stupid or something but when I try to make Pandoras MS, I'm having a bit of difficulty doing so. I extract the file from the download and there are a few other rar'd files. I run the Start.Exe file from the first extract and I go through this command prompt type thing. I follow it's directions but at the end it says it can't open msipl.

Do I need to extract everything into the memory stick or am I selecting the wrong Drive?

Yes, you should be able to create Pandora's battery on your Slim... But I'm not into the Slim stuff, so you'll have to ask someone like Laryylje on how to work it because I don't know. Sorry.

@Ahzyo
If you have other .rar files then extract it.

You can't create regular pandoras battery on the slim, because i runs via kxploit, which doesn't work on the slim. You need to use the U.P.M.S, which loads via ISO.

Well, I am at FW 1.50 but cannot seem to upgrade to 3.71. I assumed all I needed to do was put the FW BOOT in the folder on the MS and update via the dash. Is this not correct?

Before upgrading to 3.71M33, you must upgrade to 3.52M33-4.
Are you trying to upgrade to 3.71 or just 3.71M33?

Lol I've got another question, I think I've created Pandora's battery correctly but I don't think I have the right things on my MS.

If you don't have the correct things on the memory stick, will the system just turn on with the green light on without displaying anything on the screen after inserting the battery??

Any chance of you having a Slim?
If you don't have a Slim, then when placing the MagicMS and JigKick into the PSP, the wifi, MS and power light should come on at the same time, then the Pandora's Battery Recovery menu should show. It should work like that.

No I don't have a Slim. I believe I just put the wrong things on my Magic MS. Would that cause the other lights not to come on?
