I just purchased the Bourne Ultimatum DVD, brought it home and immediately tried to back it up with AnyDVD and DVDShrink and received errors in DVDShrink and could not continue.

I then tried to use:
DVDFab Decrypter
VObBlanker
DVDShrink
Nero

and got all the way through to the burning stage in Nero when it failed. Here is the log from Nero, can someone please take a look and let me know if you can see what is causing this error?

Thanks for your help!
Joe

Why not just use AnyDVD ripper? It seems to work just fine.

Update your DVDFAB HD DECRYPTER 4.0.1.6 Beta http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm
Not very good blank media! Use Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
Your LG Burner appears to already have the latest Firmware update.Version: E113
Keep your burn speed down to 8X, may want to use 4X during testing.
Download and try this to backup your DVD's:

You may have a bad disc or your laser lens might need cleaning. I did this movie R1 last night with DVD Decrypter without problems.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

The user said he tried AnyDVD. Why not just use the ripper that comes with it? Some people still don't know it's a ripper as well.

Yeah, the original poster mentioned he has AnyDVD.

Anyway, are you using the latest version of AnyDVD? Because almost all the programs you mentioned are the ones that I used for this title. My sig outlines my process.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

jmhays,
On other forums there are loads of people that are having problems w/ DVD as it is a Bad Mastering Press. Suggest that you return your copy and try another new copy.

Shrink by itself can do this movie as there is no difficult encryptions on this DVD except for CSS

I am having the same problem. I tried both DvdFab 4.0.1.6 and ripit4me using DVDdecrypter and Shrink and I get errors saying that there is something wrong with the DVD. Is this right? Or is it the copy protection?
I also tried Shrink by itself and I get a data error cycle redundance check error at 46% anlaysing stage.

I Franster's right. Just use AnyDVD to RIP it and then durn after. It looks like the DVD protection encoded is in begining intro and previews. I RIPPED my copy and burned with NERO just fine.

I tried to bring it back, and the new copy does the same thing. I tried running just Shrink, and it doesn't even finishing analysing it. I posted another thread, and i feel bad about imposing on this one but I really need some help. Everyone tells me that it's NOT encrypted and that DVDFab should do it, but it doesnt!
I am ready to quit!!!

talkhard ,
A guy on AnyDVD's forum had to take the DVD back 4 times until he found one that was not a bad press. AnyDVD nor DVDFAB HD Decrypter can not read through mastering errors on a DVD.

You can try DVD Decrypter and tell it to ignore the errors and see if it will rip a copy to the HD or you can keep returning it until you find a good one.

DVD Decrypter: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/
*****************************************
Below is the AnyDVD Status Window. It shows that there is not encryption besides CSS which any ripper can get through:

SHOU5,
AnyDVD will not rip a Bad Mastering Press and if you look at the AnyDVD Status Window in the post above you will see there is no encryption on it. If you got a good copy of the DVD any Ripper or Compression Program will rip it to HD.

I picked up a copy of this title today. Opened DVDFAB PLATINUM in FULL DISC mode, loaded the DVD and the drive started clicking. Wouldn't load. I opened the DVD tray. Set DVDFAB PLATINUM to MAIN MOVIE mode. Loaded the disc and it copied the movie. Looks great!

I did notice that Ripit4me (DvdD + Shrink) told me that it wasn't encrypted and it gave me the option of just opening it with Shrink. I tried that and Shrink gets about 47% done on the Analysing and then I get the Data Redundancy Cycle Error.
OK, well I will try just the main movie rip to see if that works.
If given the choice I don't care much for the other stuff as long as I can get the movie.

On CDFreaks, one person could not backup this title until he tried it on a different burner. Data Redundancy Cycle Error, bad disc? Mike's suggestion should prove helpful here. Using DVDFAB PLATINUM, I have found turning off Pathplayer on some of the new titles has helped. Hope your using a DVD+RW during all this testing.
