Hmmm, got my fliptop in the mail today along with Swap Magic 3.6. Fun fun, the weather is clear. Has been pretty much as day, which is wweird because the weather people said it'd rain most of the day. Stupid weather people. So I should be playing PS2, but I'm not...Can't wait to install this Flip top...and screw something up.

<sniff sniff> I know. I need help. Damnable Ebay. But I'm trying to get my feedback ratio up to 99.9%...cause 98.5 just plain sucks. Damn people giving me negative feedback cause I ratted them out for ripping me off. At least just give me neutral, bastards.

Nope, not yet. I'll do it tomorrow when the sun is out. Just got finished with all the BDay stuff. Nothing too exciting. Some clothes and a new watch...pretty cool watch. And some games I'm gonna take back cause I already have'em. Then I'm gonna install me a flip top. Question though. Should I bother with the Independence Exploit, or can that seriously screw up my PS2?

Hmmm, I have the fliptop installed and it works ok, but its making this scrathing noise. The screws aren't going in tight enough. Think I need to do some adjusting, but I don't know if I want to, might screw something up... But hey...it works :)

When does it make the clicking sound? If it makes this sound after you put a game in it could the media your using. Use Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or Ritek DVD-R's. If those aren't at ye olde Wal-Mart then try Maxell, TDK, or Sony. Here's how to burn with DVD Decrypter: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/117975 Good Luck.

Uhmmm, no. The fliptop isn't on tight enough. The screws wouldn't go back in all the way. I need to file something down... :P My media isn't exactly top quality...heck I don't even know who made it, but it works. I used Alcohol 120% and DVD Decrypter/Nero to back my games up cause I wasn't sure which would turn out ok so I just used both burning methods...that's how many DVDs I have...75 for $35...cheap crap. But it's not clicking, it's scrapping.... I'm gonna look at it right now.

You mean the screws on the base of the PS2? Just make sure you put the longer screws where they're supposed to fit. What version PS2 do you have? I'd advise against any filing down. Make sure you got a flip top that's compatible with your version of PS2.

I've got it fixed now. I just had to put alittle more pressure on the screws. That and I moved the white cap from the original PS2 DVD drive top to the flip top to help and protect the disc. I didn't know I had to do that. I love how these things come with installation directions... :) It's working fine now. No odd noises or anything. My DVD Decrypter/Nero games aren't working but my Alcohol 120% ones are working fine. To bad my copy of Alochol 120% expired...and I'm not buying it. I'll just have to figure out how to get DVD D/Nero to work.

Me too. You know...I'm getting another PS2 just to try out that Exploit thing on. I'm gonna have to buy a newer version of CodeBreaker though. Version 7 doesn't have the device manager on it. :P Thanks for all you guys' help. Now I know how not to screw up a PS2.

Yeah I can understand not wanting to shell out $30 for Alcohol. *Cough* P2P *cough*. My version works great. I have no money, and the money I do have isn't going to burning programs. Fortunately most of them offer a free trial.

I have some program called Games X Copy that I haven't tried out yet..maybe that'll work ok. Think I'll try it out. *ahem* Man I wish I didn't have such a slow DSL connection...
