Just a thought for everyone-
If all us smokers in the world quit forever tommorrow, how long do you think before the world went bankrupt?

I think that it would make the economy go down but it would not bankrupt the world.

Ya they would just raise taxes on everything else to make up for it. But that would be a HUGE tax hike.

You must mean beside income tax because even rich people don't eclipse 50% taxes on income (federal & state)
there's property tax and sales tax, etc.

While I was writing that last post my best friend committed suicide..I'm really freaked out and down..I don't know why he had to do it...There didn't seem to be anything wrong with his life, just maybe a bit fed up.. It's made me sit down and think about things, like how no matter how long you've known somebody, you never really understand the person inside..I thought we could talk about anything but maybe he couldn't talk about what he really needed to...From dust we come and to dust we must return...In memory of Chris Walsh..1967-2005..Rest in Peace my dear friend.......

Hey anyone seen the health warnings on Australian cigarette packs..Not pulling any punches there are they..Just plain facts typical Aussie stuff..In the uk there is a new TV anti smoking campaign "if you smoke, you stink" Really offensive methinks and telling lies, Smoking doesn't clog arteries with fat..McDonalds does that!!!

lets start a thread about porn.now that would be descent.i dont know what youre getting at?its seems youre implying casual conversation is pointless.
anyway,im an off and on again smoker.i can quit for a couple of months and pick it up again like i never quit in the first place.i have yet to figure out the attraction to smoking.i have many theories, one being that smoking is the time out that stops you from doing something stupid.many times when i was pissed off i grabbed a cigarette and by the time i finished the cig i was calmed down.it wasnt the effect of the cig but the time i took to smoke it that helped out.but again i find different reasons for smoking depending on the situation im in.its weird how most people cant put their finger on the reason why they smoke.
its bullsh*t that here in america the reason why cigs cost so much is the amount of tax they put on them.there isnt a tobacco shortage or any logical reason.they arent trying to save lives by making it too expensive for people to buy.if that was the case they might as well ban tobacco products.and i doubt that money generated from those outrageous tax hikes are going to help people pay for their health costs which they claim is the reason for cigs going for the prices they are at now(about $3-$5 in north carolina,a state that is known for its tobacco production).
