being a substance user myself, estuanis, i'm in no position to judge. so i can't make any more comments on weed. :-P
jack, if you roll your own smokes (fags, for you), then yes, you would add ground cloves to the tobacco as you pack it.
however, many people, myself included, haven't gotten into rolling their own cigarettes yet, and as such, we just buy cloves (kreteks) in smoke shops. my preferred style is the Djarum Blacks, a mild tar/nicotine cigarrette with a 60/40 mix of tobacco and cloves, wrapped in black rolling paper. they are absolutely delicious.
and i know it's just of weasling a bit, but if you use the cigar smoking technique instead of inhaling like most cigarette users, you will only draw smoke into your mouth and thus lose the risk of lung cancer, only retaining mouth cancer.
for those of us who, like myself again, don't smoke much, it's not much of a risk at all. :-)

About cloves.. health food shop, 50p buys me 2 months supply and cuts my smoking by 25%. Buy them already ground.. buggers to smash up yourself, and the smell/taste never comes out of a coffee grinder.
Funny fact..... most brown cannabis resin contains less than 10% actual weed resin.. the rest is made up of dark henna and cloves, often with other nasties like electronics potting resin/epoxy/transformer wax to make it hard.

They don't really taste of anything when burned.. but you get a numb mouth the first few times.
As for bad.. hell.. smoking is bad, as is living anywhere near a road, so stuff it.

nor have i but i've had one of my friends burp smoke into my face so i could imagine it would be great to do to some guy that you hate for some reason that happens to be hung over at the time

I always thought that Jacques was the French form of James and that Jean was the French form of John. I've never thought that names should be translated anyway. I've never understood how cities in Europe such as Munich aren't even spelled the same way in English or German. How can a word that probably doesn't mean anything be translated in the first place.
