Me and some friends dared someone we know to smoke 10 fags at once. We all chipped in for the cost and one of us filmed it on our camera phone. Poor guy's mouth looked like a chimmeny when he breathed out and was shaking for ages afterwards. It was hilarious.

@glitched smoking weed is less harmful then tabacco on your lungs, throat and most your body but after a while you start to get paranoid you get jumpy and in the end it sends you insain and gives you brain damage or parkinsons disease if you smoke enough for long enough.cigarettes are unhealthy and smell worse then weed but they better on the mental health aspect even if they destroy your lungs and throat.i only smoke cigs nows.As for cigarettes taking 6mins of your life.ive been smoking minimum 10 a day for 5years.if each packet takes 6minutes of your life i should of been dead years ago.
xbox 1.1 80GB hdd xecuter 2 unleash x dash(possible upgrade in future) very old pc(new one should be coming soon)
bottle of bacardi(depending on how drunk i am sometimes the bottles empty)
packet of smokes(until i smoke them all)

I just wanted to give an update on my quit plan:
This was my 3rd time quitting, 2nd time using the patch. [other - cold turkey]
It's been at least 3 months since my last cigarette, and at least a month since I've been on the patch.
I got the patches for free from the State of West Virginia, because of my lack of health insurance and/or income range. They basically gave me the suggested regimen that can be found on the back of any nicotine patch box: Since I smoked more than 10 cigs a day, but less than a pack, they gave me the 14mg patches to use for 6 weeks, which was wierd because when I stepped down to 7mg, I only used those for 2 weeks. I noticed that "getting used to the patch" should be one step in it's own, so it kind of makes sense, and it was successful.
As part of the State program I had to talk on the phone with a "coach" 4 times during my "patch-therapy", which went exactly as you think it would. It helped, but it was annoying. We'd go over the same stuff every time they called, stuff about my personal life, how it's affecting me, do my friends and family smoke, what benefits do I notice from quitting, etc. etc.
The main thing I noticed this time around was that getting off the patch was way more extreme than going from cigarettes to the patch. But, by the time I was almost finished, and had about 2-3 days left of the patch, I decided I was going to quit early, and never used the last few patches I had, I felt better.
If you're a smoke to relieve stress and you quit, it's scientific law that you have to compensate for it when you can't smoke. Since my next urge was to eat more, that's what I did. I gained 10 lbs, but it outweighs smoking in the health category. I feel a whole lot better and I'm really glad I quit. I'd give the website for the WV program, but nobody's from WV.

I'm 52 and I started smoking pot before I started smoking cigs wayyyyyyyy back in 1970!! it took me 22 years to finally stop it all together! I now have shortness of breath when I try to run a mile! I stopped many times over the 22 yrs of smoking and I wished that I had never started! Smoking is neither cool or smart. It's like a junkie needing his drug!!! I hope all of you who do smoke have the ability to stop before it's too late! G-d bless ya all!

@zippyd.......you sound like a serial killer! I guess that's what happens when you stop smoking! I stopped countless of times only to go back.... in my 22 yrs of smoking I smoked everything except for crack and other drugs... pot yes ... but harsher drugs, NO! thank G-d for that. finally ..... 10yrs ago this month (Dec., 1996) I stopped for good using the patch.... and today there are no urges to go back. I don't hang with people that do smoke and I there isn't a trace of nicotine n my system!! Now if I can only get rid of the caffine!!!! I love my coffee!

I started smoking two years ago when I was 14. I've cut down from nearly half a pack a day to a pack a week. Like 3 or 4 a day. I'm working on quitting before it ruins me. Been steadily cutting down and I've set a goal to stop completely by my birthday in March.

@estuansis ... Ihoe is right, quite now. You don't smoke much so the withdrawls shouldn't be aweful and you're still just a kid so you probably haven't done all that much damage yet.
@IHoe...I don't remember how old I was sixteen years old maybe? I remember pulling them out and lighting up in front of my mom because I was pissed at her. Damn, showed her, didn't I?? LOL!
I quit in June and its now seven months without a cigarette. Like most, I've tried quitting a hundred times in the past but for some strange reason, it was (relatively) easy this time. Maybe I had more resolve this go-round; certainly was no less addicted! I smoked 2 and a half to three and a half packs a day for decades so where I noticed the difference first was in my checking account; it made a huge difference.
@ZippyD ... keep up the good work guy!

(I might as well add my two cents)
I think cigarettes are horrible. There's too many chemicals involved.
I'd rather get a tin of those nice little cigars and smoke them when I'm in the mood for tobacco. (You don't inhale them; just puff.) Smoking messes with your mind and it burns the little hairs in your throat that are there to catch little particles and stuff from entering your lungs. So your lungs get exposed, plus if you smoke regularly your lungs start to build a nice layer of tar.
I'm starting to drink coffee now. It gives a nice stimulating effect, but it's not addictive. At least nothing like cigarettes are. And it's way more socially acceptable. And I don't have to smell like smoke.
I'm almost a year and a half quit by the way. I've bought 3 packs of cigarettes since I quit. Each time it throws a wrench in my life.

Turkish Golds ftw!
We all know cigarettes are terrible, thats pretty obvious. Here is CA they are trying to pass some lame law that will add around $2.50 in tax to each pack, that might be what i need to kick the habit.
BUT, nothing goes better with a drink then a smoke :D

I've noticed some shortness of breath and hopefully soon I'll quit. My parents have already said they'd stop buying them for me on march 1st per my request. I'm trying to cut down to nothing before then so I don't have to go absolutely cold turkey.
Now I have a different addiction that is part physical and part mental. Dads Old Fashioned Root Beer. It's the BEST soda ever made but I have to limit myself to one bottle per week or I have bathroom troubles. Way less harmful than Newport 100's hopefully.
