herbs ..
nice to talk to ya on Irc..like i said
al da hoopla seems to down for the moment(till saturady at least) as michelin has agreed to produce new tyres -race spec for sunday..
so lesse..

meanwhile alonso has lashed out nice and hard at Ferrari..ouch...

"Spaniard Fernando Alonso has slammed Formula One giants Ferrari as bad losers following their claims that their rivals are using illegal tyres.

I find this situation comical. When Schumacher, Ferrari and Bridgestone win everything no one complains about their tyres. Now that Michael and Ferrari are losing, it's a drama

ooh ..sunday wil b fun..one of the fastest tracks..reachin upto 360

Ross Brawn has admitted that Ferrari were too conservative in their approach this year and vows the team will be more aggressive in 2004.

The Ferrari technical director said that after their domination last year the team had become complacent and misjudged the pace of the 2002 machine.

As a result they focused too much on producing a reliable car for this year rather than designing a car that would make strides in performance.

He told Autosport magazine: "You don?t push things as aggressively as you might in a less dominant season.

"Therefore you don?t take any risks with the development of the car or risks which might affect reliability because you have sufficient performance.

"When you have a situation like this year, when we?re not competitive, you push those things very hard. You have to wind the system back up again to where it needs to be.

"That influences us at all sorts of times, like in the winter when you have to decide whether to work on a performance or a reliability item: which you select on how well you are doing."

Last year Ferrari secured the drivers? championship at the French GP and took the constructors? crown at Hungary.

By contrast this year Ferrari trail Williams by eight points in the constructors? battle while driver Michael Schumacher has seen his lead slashed to one point.

But Brawn insists it wasn?t wrong to take the direction they did this year considering the circumstances and believes the F2003-GA was a step forward over last year?s wonder car, which won 15 of the 17 races.

He said: "Last winter, maybe the ratio of the work we did on those two aspects tended to favour reliability. This winter we will have to change that ratio.

"It?s not a criticism or a failure, it?s the natural order of things that sets priorities according to the situation you have.

"We feel we have made progress with the new car, but it?s not been as successful as the old one."

As has become customary with the Italian squad, Brawn has revealed that the team will almost certainly introduce their new car after the three flyaway races.

He said: "This year worked out for us, so it?s most likely that we will do the same thing next year with the objective of having the new car running during the winter, but perhaps not racing it until the start of the European season."

Well I think it is good to finally admit, they have been sitting back on their heels - however IT IS NO EXCUSE----------bahhhhhh!!!!!

(got rid of that)

I also think they are actually admitting defeat OR putting their excuses in early, so if Ferrari do fail this season - then they are trying to justify it now before the end of the season......

Personally I am disappointed with the so called 'New car' and it's performance this season, but that is racing, all us Tifose can hope for is a new beginning next season.....

However there is a little bit of hope still left and my motto is never give up until the fight is done........so c'mon Ferrari see if you can finish the season on a high.

I want to see some REAL racing in the closing races, starting this weekend - not bothered who wins really - I just want to see some action.....

yepperz

agrre with u on two counts

1- wanna c some real close racing..really gritty action not a boring procession like magny cours..dont wnat ne 1 to crash out ..not even MS..though i wud luv to see kimi win..of course..:)

2-ferrari's just gettin ready for the ritual of excuses cause even with all the trimmin 'frenchelins' are still oon top in provisional pole

"Ferrari's technical director Ross Brawn was caught up in a heated debate with Williams counterpart Patrick Head and McLaren boss Ron Dennis as controversy overshadowed the opening day of the Italian Grand Prix weekend.

Head and Dennis were both critical of Brawn following Ferrari's complaint to the sport's governing body the FIA that the Michelin tyres used by Williams and McLaren were illegal"

i dont think v hav seen the last of this controversy

BTW..look up the history of such snitches ferrari has done..

Heh c'mon - Maclaren haven't exactly been the team of good sportsmanship over the years - Mr Ron Dennis...........

He has always got something to gripe about especially where Ferrari are concerned......

Remember magny cours (think it was magny cours) when Kimi slid on oil and MS took him on the inside to the hairpin.

Ron Dennis barked about that saying because of waved yellows MS should not have overtaken - Hmmmmm Kimi lost it so MS just slide up the inside.....

Not meaning to instill ANY arguments just pointing out that ALL teams always have a gripe when things are not going there way and their only excuse is usually pointing the finger at someone else.......

Back to racing.........

Not a bad qualifying - it lines up tomorrow's race VERY nicely indeed - WHO has the biggest rocks to arrive into the first cicane HOT......

Should be a good one, I think RB may try and squeeze JM out of the first cicane......C'mon....

yo phants..not in room these dayz?

hmmmm.dont rem that magny cours incident,,this year..?

sure i also rem about RD bitchin g about ferraris bargeboards lasy year at sepang

and RB aabout macs extra pedal...and on an on

but IMo if u check past 5-10 yrs or so..ferrari hav bitched more...

anyway ..back to the season

i would say cheers to kimi and montoya..for makin this an interesting season to watch.dunno wat the outcome of todays race wil be ..but .but these 2 have surely made this season an interstin one ..not an endless procession of reds like last year

acatully i wud say .. this is by far the closet it s been in nearly 20 yrs .in 1986 prost, mansell, piquet and senna all had hopes at this point in the season

coming back to kimi and JM..cheers..for bringing F1 BACK TO LIFE

i mean just compare.. look at the DNf's for Kimi 3 ..none of it his OWn fault..engine blow up,got banged into, blindsighted

also JM..3 dnf;s

MS -only 1 -wher he slid off in brasil

and look they all have almsot same points
so whos more consistent

kimi got 5 2nd places
Jm got 4

MS when he didnt come first 4 times,,was not handy enuff to come 2nd even once...?

if only mika was here ..and with kimi's mac instead of the shitty 2001 mac(7 dnf')
he wud hav kicked evry1 s butt

The magny cour incident happened in KR's first season - either last year or the year before (cannot remember exactly)

Totally agree with you about JM and KR bringing the excitement into the championship....

Even though I am a Ferrari fan, I am also a racing fan, so it did get VERY boring with Ferrari's domination over the past.....

They have given Ferrari a good wake up call, and time will tell if they can respond or not, so far they haven't, however today maybe a different ball of wax.....

Heres to good one, and a good clean scrap.....

Well I could not agree with you more.....Baaaaah

The best action happened within the first 4 corners on lap 1 - then it was sunday driving at it's best.......

I said driving not racing....Baaaah

During the 2nd stint, JM started to crawl back but to no avail........

Did enjoy the BAR part, especially when they were talking to Jenson before the race - when theey were focusing on his misses - nice.....

Anyway back to reality - WE'RE STILL IN THE BALLGAME........

Where was MS's rear wing - he had none didn't he.....man he must have been hanging on for life through the lezmo's.....

Well here's to the INDY to bring home the racing we were expecting.........thats it for another 2 weeks.......back to the PS2 F1 2003 - at least I can guarantee a good race there, specially cos I'm so shite......l8tr's

Tifosse !!!

Had a roast beef dinner down the pub w/ quite a few double Remy Martins (coke & ice so I didnt get too hammered) & then came home to watch the video.
So glad the Monza fans got a result...

It werent a great race but Michael had the bollocks to fend off Montoya , classic Schuey.
Will this be the pivital moment in the championship ? ; )

Sounds like you had more fun at the pub - roast beef with ALL the trimmings?

It could well be, although belief is and history says Indianapolis is a michelin circuit.

But if MS loses his wing again, I think we'll do just fine - just goes to show though that MS has not given up and IS prepared to take the steps to drive on the edge.......can't fault him really......

Funny though when I take wing off on the PS2 I end up looking like maureen off the driving program.....

Man, that sucks......

JM must be pissed, nothing went for him at all - the nudge on RB (my opinion was a racing incident and no blame should have been to ANYONE).
Then the wrong tyre selection - that hurt him real bad....

AND finishing in sixth, a couple of places and he would still have been in the chase at suzuka....

God I hope there is a look into the fact of racing incidents, cos even RB was inclined to believe it was blameless.....

Nice to see the heavens open and the Bridgestone inters kick the shite out of the Michelins......

BUT the title is between the rainmaster and the rentboy at Suzuka - MS just requiring 1 point to hold the record of 6.

Must admit the Bridgestone inters just ate that race, pity the slicks aren't upto that standard in damp conditions.....

Unfortunate for JB, I thought he was gonna clinch his first podium.

Nice one Frentzen, for a flawless race (another Bridgestone, Ferrari engine) that old timer still has some spark....LOL

Maclaren can only get 2nd in the constructors so it looks like there is gonna be a huge battle at Suzuka between Ferrari and Williams and Maclaren....should be interesting, I can see RB being a major influence on that.......

For another 2 weeks, lets see a good one.....

Out of feeling bad for anyone all day , it would have to be for Jenson as your quite rightly stated baabaa. GUTTED

Frentzen did drive well and what was good to see was old enemies Michael & Heinz Harold shaking hands & patting backs just before the podium trophy ceremony.

It was mentioned that Juan Pablo could be at McLaren as early as next year because his (probable) wage demands for next year are unlikely to be met by Frank Williams...hhmmm

It has been an exciting year due to all the changes that came in & there's more to come next year !;-)

I hope everyone in this thread is going to tear themselves away from their PC's this weekend.......

Starting tonight.......konichi wah (or words to that effect....LOL)

Lets have ALL you predictions pre-qualifying....

I can see a massive strategic race due to MS and KR, Maclaren against Williams and both the Williams against Ferrari......

EVERYTHING is up for grabs.......C'MON Ferrari, get RB to do some REAL blocking and lets see MS come home in REAL style and also clinch the Constructors Championship.....

So we can send those boys back to the drawing boards for next season.....

1st - MS
2nd - RB
3rd - RS
4th - JM
5th - KR - although I think he will not finish due to depression....

Anyone heard of any feedback from JM, regarding the misplaced justice of Indianapolis?

Do you think we'll still find this thread for next season......LOL
