Was looking into this on certain sites and forums and came across this little beauty.
Firstly, open up your internet browser on the PS3 and google for video stage 6.
Go to the video section and find a video which you wish to download, ie music videos or trailers and click on it.
Press start on your controller and the address bar will come up, delete everything except the http:// (delete the www. too) and the 7-8 digit number.
Then edit the address to this http://video.stage6.com/NUMBER/.divx and press start, you will be then prompted to save the file to your hard drive or any memory device that may be plugged in.
There are HD videos and full length films on there like laurel and hardy and older movies. A 2 minute trailer will take about 1 minute to download.
If the address won't work, take the . out after video...... but i think that is correct.

I've also found a site called WIZMOVIES (google it on your browser on the PS3).
You can download certain updated movies onto your hard drive.
I've already downloaded about 10 films recently, and a 2 hour film should take aprox 2hrs to download.

Thanks for the heads up on this! I've found this to be the easiest way to get DIVX striaght to my PS3. Joox.net is good as well. Quicksilver.com (spelling)is a great resource.
Someone asked on another forum about how Divx looks on an HD set and I will attest to the fact that about 1/3 of the videos you'll find to download are almost DVD quality and are VERY watchable to say the least... there ARE videos that are TERRIBLE (filmed via camcorder in the theatre) and those are easy to avoid by looking at the video comments as people many times complain.

From what I understand, when Anime's are drawn, they are created at a lower frame rate (12fps for example). If these movies were encoded with this frame rate, it is possible that the PS3 wont accept it as a regular movie file. As conventional files use 23.976fps, 25fps, 29.97fps etc.
