hello guys, please bear with me for a moment bout my problem...
I have 2 laptops and install anydvd free trial on both, which run perfectly well with one but not the other...Can anyone help me pinpoint the problem?
My first laptop is Toshiba series 2400 (very old) with:
TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R2102 for the drive
Firmware version 1316
RPC 2
Region drive: 3
DirectX 9.0c
While the second one is NEC (don't know the series or type but newer than the toshiba) with:
MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-840S
Firmware Version 1.00
RPC 2
Region drive: 1
Direct X 9.0
Anydvd runs perfectly smooth with the Toshiba...I could play different kind of dvd region and anydvd can bypass it.
But anydvd dont work in my NEC. I would play dvd from region 3 or 4, and anydvd would failed to read.
Can anybody please help me? I'm trying to understand better of this...Does dvd decorder has anything to do with it? I use Windvd for both laptops and nothing else. Or is it the firmware??

The firmware for the first drive looks up to date. On the second one

It looks like you could upgrade by clicking on NEC/Packard Bell system. Firmware 1.02

I think you mean dvd recorder, not a decorder. Im not a big spelling freak, but we have to know what you are talking about, so correct spelling is important on some things.
As far as Anydvd goes, I suggest you buy the program. It works great, has lifetime free upgrade and support. I bought it a few years ago, and its the best money ive spent on a software program in a long time. You could look at the settings and make sure they are checked. Double click on the foxhead icon and go to the settings tab. You should have them all checked, and make sure the default region setting is for your region.
Thx, btw just to be clear....if my country region is 3, and I want to play a dvd region 1...I still just set my default on region 3, right?? Thx a bunch
And I tried your firmware link and it says No Region free firmware RPC 2....adn there is no download link, what does it mean? Thx, sorry I'm really unknowledgeable in this
