are you using a slim ps2? because the exploit doesn't work on them; fat ps2 only. also, with ARMAX, you have to uncrush the save file.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure
got a whole lot more to list . . .

Hi! buddy Thanks for replying. I been working on this exploit for 53 hours already. It wasted so much of my time. Here is what I have, I will make it very detail. I have a fat PS2 with network adaptor, 2 controllers, a 8mb memory card, ps1 game, WWF SMACKDOWN, ps2 game, I have alot of ps2 games, gameshark 2, USB drive, blank DVD disc. That's it Nothing else, it's all the equipment I have. I used INdependence compiler 4 for the PS1 game with the SLUS code, I did everything according to youtube tutorial. The thing is HOW DOES THE EXPLOIT FILE LOOK ON THE MEMORY CARD after I copied from the USB drive???? The problem for me now is that, exploit doesn't load, the PS1 game load instead, there is no white flash screen or anything. help please.

No thats just an example of the BADATA-SYSTEM
You should have a BOOT.ELF, title.db, Cdloader.elf, cogswaploader.elf
Using the PS2 Exploit utility 5.1, it guides you each step to add your title.db from your PS1 disk, use the ulaunch.elf that comes with it or download ulaunch4.12 form sksapps.com, then add what elf files you want, select your PS2 region, then select your output file.
If your output is a save file, you need to make it compatible with what program your using to transfer it from USB to mc.
Use PS2 Savebuilder to open the .xps file and then save it in the proper format.
Thats it basically but its very important to add your PS1 title which is your SLUS id.
Not all PS1 discs work, so you may have to try another one.

Ok that is correct and what is the file size of your system configuration file showing in the PS2 browser. If its bigger than it was before then its correct. That is how you will know if it copied correctly.
I am not sure with gameshark if it needs to be uncrushed or unzipped to mc. With Ar Max you select uncrush to mc.

When you copied the file to your usb drive what format was it? Like what file extension.
It should be .md I believe, not sure. If its not you need to change it with PS2 savebuilder to your proper extension for gameshark.
Then you need to unzip it to your mc using your gameshark.

When files have extension .md , .cbs, .max etc they are in compressed form.
They need to be uncompressed when transferred to mc.
I really don't know what the guy on youtube is doing.
You can try it our way and follow the tutorial I gave you above, using the 5.1 exploit utility to make your exploit.
Seeing you made yours already, then at least make sure you have the files you need. I suggest at least you read the tutorial to make sure you do.
No it doesn't matter if you leave the file named as exploit.md
So just unzip your .md file to your mc, then it should install, then put in PS1 disk and reset PS2.
It should load the ulaunch screen if done right.

It doesn't matter what the file becomes after you uncrush it as long as it was done correctly.
What is your PS1 Title ID and I will make you an exploit to try.
What all do you want to do with the exploit?

Ok I have made the exploit
Get it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/101316079/IsCentral.zip
Download it, then extract it. You will then have IsCentral.md
Then copy that to your usb flash drive, and using the gameshark, unzip it to the mc.
It should then work.
Then put in your PS1 game disk and hit reset on the PS2.
You should then have the uLaunch screen.
You can then use filebrowser to browse the mc for the cogswap.elf or cdloader.elf in the BADATA-SYSTEM folder.
Or you can reboot with PS1 disk in and have selected triangle for cogswap.elf, and circle for Cdloader.elf
Let me know if it works.

You will have to upload image to something like Photobucket.
Then use the image tag to insert the link once its uploaded.
That EA game may not work, I don't know. What other PS1 games can you use.
I guess I learn something new everyday. It does say in this tutorial STEP #5 to rename the IsCentral.md to IsCentral.ps2
http://www.console-exploits.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7566
Must be a gameshark thing. So the guy on youtube is right.
Give that a go.

I can but did you try this first. Just rename the .md file I gave you.
5. This step is *EXTRA IMPORTANT* so take a deep breath... that's right... breeeeath.
*Open a folder (any folder in your comp). Choose Tool/Folder Option/View and scroll down to where it says "Hidden files and folders". Choose "Show hidden files and folders" and click OK button.
*Go to where you saved your exploit file and you'll see the .md extension.
*Highlight the file and hit F2 to rename it (or you can right click and choose Rename) and rename the extension to ".ps2"
7. Boot up the gameshark disc (DO NOT stick your usb device in the usb slot while it loads or the screen will freeze)
*Go to [Mem & Save Manager] with your stick in the usb slot and MC in the first memory card slot.
*Choose NO if it asks you to load save files from the disc, then wait for everything to load
- If your stick's content are not shown on the left (Source) window, put it back in your computer and make sure that it's format FAT16 (or just FAT) and not FAT32. If it's FAT32 then reformat the stick (I'll leave it up to you how you wanna do that) to FAT.
- If after making sure the stick is FAT and it still doesn't work then you are almost screwed. Your best bet is to buy another brand or borrow from someone and hope it'll work.
*Now assuming the content does show up, choose the exploit file (*whateverexploitname*.ps2) and copy over to your MC (Target) window. You'll see something such as "yoursystemsetting" shows up in your MC window.
8. Hit EJECT and replace the gameshark disc with one of your "intended" psx trigger disc that you used to create the TITLE.DB file.
*Hit RESET button and wait for it to boot. If everything is correct you should see a white screen, follow by whatever elf file you set as your BOOT.ELF
*If it doesn't work, switch with another disc. If it still doesn't work repeat the whole tutorial again until it work ;)

Your gameshark can't see your usb drive is that it?
I figured it did cause you said you copied from it. I guess I should of asked if it could see your usb drive.
Before I suggest Ar Max, what exactly do you want your PS2 to do. To be able to play backups, to be able to play from a Ps2 hdd?
The $10-20 you would spend on either Ar max with media player, I personally would tell you to spend $26 on Swap Magic, and a little more to get a fliptop for it.
Its much less hassle and you can play any backup then except DVD9 that is.
So its really up to you in how much you want to spend.

Yes I wanted to play back up games and save some money. Also my gameshark can see the usb drive on ps2. All I really want to do is to figure this trick. computer games is much easier to copy and play!!!! So Swap Magic 3.6 will be the best among all these trick we do??

if you're going to spend more money, i'd suggest saving up for ARMAX, the network adapter and a 160gig IDE hdd (anything higher is needed if you have over 30 games). you wouldn't have to worry about discs, as you can load all your games onto the hdd, including DVD9. practically 95% of all ps2 games work off the hdd.
up front, you will spend more, but in the longrun, it's worth it. you won't have to keep on buying blanks just for games, and you will preserve your laser life. also, you will barely have lag, and loading times are nearly gone.
