There is Rawdump 2.1 untested version out with a DL feature.. Waiting til next week to try it out. OH PLEASE LET IT WORK :D..

Hello, first time posting.
Got a couple questions.
What fw version is SSBB(j)?
Because i semi-bricked my NTSC(E) wii.
I had wiikey updated to 1.9g and fw version at 3.1(u), i think, because i could play SMG (ntsc-u).
Any ntsc-u game that has a later version of fw than ssbb(j) has?

SSBB(J) has firmware 3.1 on it (plus a minor update to make the dual layer games work. My personal theroy is that it steps up the power of the laser to help read dual layer games, because the japanese copies of brawl were bundeled with a leaflet that said the game may give you a disk read error the first time playing it. And that if it does to turn the console off and back on again until it works)
Firmware 3.2 just came out a few days ago so no games have it included with them yet. As to weather or not the US version of brawl will have 3.1 or 3.2 is anyone's guess. I doubt it will but who knows.

Since some american versions of Brawl have leaked already, does anyone know if it's been ripped yet? Not asking where to find it, just wondering if I'm wasting my time searching for now.

hi,i was just wondering.what is the size of the upcoming ssbb english.(around 4.37 gb or 7 gb) beacuse then i need to buy the dl disks..srry if a noob question. :P

Sorry, theres no chance that the english release of this will be anything but dual layer. Track down some DL disks now so you're ready for the release.

So, has anyone tested Rawdump 2.1 with Super Smash Bros Brawl, because I really want to know for SSBB when it comes out next week in the U.S.! =] I also wanted to know if you could use the normal GDR_186* drive that I use to backup my normal wii games, or if I have to buy a new ripping drive for this.

Cant test it myself becuase I dont have an origional disk but from what I'm reading rawdump 2.1 isnt working for SSBB.
I know I read this once but does anyone remember how the japanese version of the game was ripped? I remember that each layer had to be ripped seperately and then combined, but I dont know what kind of drive they used or what programs.

so since my post got closed and i got redirected here can some one help me with some questions since im still in a panic since i already Pre-ordered it and i have a wiikey...
1. are there any options that dont involve me ripping out my wiikey to play this?
2. heard there is a switch i can put on my wiikey to pretty much turn it off. can someone send me private message if need to a link about this? im not sure what it is or how to install but i would learn.
3. what are anyone personal feeling on the chances that they will put a update out to fix this for wiikey? (heard it was pretty hectic when SMG came out but updated my wiikey severl weeks later so i never knew it cause such a stir)
thanks to anyone that can help

I think us wiikey owners are SOL. You will have to get a backup copy to play ssbb. The wiikey team is not going to update the wiikey. If theres a method to switch it off then that may be an option for you but your best bet is to get a backup or buy a new wii

Installing a switch is easy. Just run the VCC wire from Wii drive board to Switch terminal. Then a wire from the other switch terminal to the Wiikey VCC point itself.

Wiikey CAN real dual layer disks, just not dual layer origionals.
I have a switch ready to be soldered to my wiikey if I cant rip this game on sunday, I'd perfer to be able to rip it though becuase I'd rather not risk screwing anything up. :\

I beleive its out there but its not on any private trackers or ftp I'm on. I'll keep watching for it.
