As long as the end of the sniped wires don't touch anything and bridge you will be fine. Try placing a little black tape at the end of the sniped wire.
You could technically run 2 wires out the back of the Wii and connect/disconnect them perfectly fine without a switch. Just connect the wires when you want to use the Wiikey then disconnect them when you want to run the original SSBB game disc.

Quote: the problem is the wiikey. no fix, but there are some workarounds.
What are these workarounds? I don't own the game. My friend's dad runs an EB and he got it early, but my wii wouldn't read it.

The workarounds are being able to play a backup of it, or creating a disable switch on the wiikey.
Still, has anyone tried frii dump v.0.4.0?

The English version can play against the Jap version online, so yes. Second, the game saves are different fro english and Japanese so you will have to do everything all over again.

Help, please. :)
You got a US copy? Downloaded it or did you just to get a copy early somehow?
Please more information on this.
Do the update in the japanese version makes the Retail version of Brawl unreadable on US Wii?
Is there any way to reset the system firmware?

I don't have a switch on my wiikey, but I have bought a switch at Radioshack before. Also, the only way to turn off the wiikey is by not giving it power. This can be done with a switch or by unsoldering it.

Hey, I have 2 questions:
1. Is a Us torrent out yet?
2. Could I rent the US game from a rental store, and then copy it on to a dual layer disk?
BTW, if its neccisary to know, my wii is at 3.2U and a wiikey at 1.9g
config 1.3 region override

Ok, heres the scene. I have the Jap back-up of Brawl and now I have an official US version of Brawl. My U.S. wii won't read the US version of Brawl, but it will read the Jap back-up. So am I to believe that I have to play a back-up version of the US Brawl? That sucks. We need a fix. Cause when this comes out, I'm sure I won't be the only one with this problem.

Wiikey is supposedly working on a fix, but they are notoriously slow at releasing anything. Wiinewz is the main news page for wiikey also, so I hear. So if you want an update right when it is released, watch there.
Link002, please don't be so obvious you want to pirate things, it sometimes makes people upset. You can always rent a game, use an LG drive to dump the iso, and burn with a dual layer dvd burner... And no, a torrent for brawl is not out yet, but please, stop asking this. Use google, or maybe some public torrent website to fulfill those requests, not here. Thanks.

@Link002
#2 in your list is blatant piracy and not allowed here. No rent & rip discussions.

How do they already have it at blockbuster? Also, try using friidump v.0.4.0 it just came out for DL discs.

Keep us updated. I'm in the same boat. Thinking about doing the switch install but can't find anyone locally that sells the triwing screwdriver.

DOES FRIIDUMP WORK??? any indications? I've heard 10 times rawdump doesnt, so why don't we try friidump? (I'll have my copy in a few hours, and I'll give it a shot.) I just bought an LG DL dvd burner, this should work to dump too right?

I preordered it at blockbuster. I went to rent a movie and saw that they were for sale on the counter and asked if they were available yet and they said yes. They didn't have any rentals available only sales. They got them in at the begining of the week.
I've got friidump now and will try that..
