How? - I am sorry to keep asking, but I am having so much trouble here getting things to work. Do I just extract the files for the actual film?

After the Preview Window, in the Settings Window, click "Advanced" and you can select a seperate subtitle file.
Its impossible to merge subtitles into the final product.

That doesn't even make sense..
What files are you working with here? AVI, MKV, OGM?

..... and the Subtitles are on the DVD?
If thats the case you need to extract the subtitles.
Do this use SubRip - Doom9 has a guide on using it.
When you have the final text file, you can select it in the Subtitles box on the 'Advanced' tab in the Settings Window after the Preview when opening a file.
Hope this helps,

This worked great. I kept having trouble with PSP Video 9 when converting DVD's and sometimes avi files. But this converted my videos right away and looks nice. Thanks.

Apologies for the redundant question, but I've been having problems getting mp4's onto my PSP Slim (version 3.80). I've read through the guides that were posted but still cannot get the files on. I've converted the movie using DVD Fab Platinum and have tried to copy just the mp4 onto the proper folder (MP_ROOT/100MNV100 - the PSP automatically created it when the stick was formatted). When the file is transferred, I receive an error saying "cannot copy MV400001: The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid." I've tried copying the file to the Video folder and other folders with no luck. I have even tried copying jpg's to the picture folder and it only works occasionally. I've tried this on the 1GB stick that came with the PSP as well on a 2GB Sandisk stick that I bought. Not surprisingly, Sony support told me to keep buying Sony sticks until one works - thanks Sony! I appreciate any help and sorry if this is redundant.

I tried using the 3gp and I got the following error when I tried to drag and click the mp4's files onto my PSP "cannot copy M4V2216: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." Has anyone seen that before? Did I mess something up or is there something wrong with my memory stick or PSP? Thanks for any help.

I dragged in an MPEG file. That is what was created in the fist step of the process when I converted the main movie. Is that the proper file type?

Yes, I converted the file with no problems but could not copy it to my PSP. I was actually fooling around with it tonight after not messing with it for over a week, and I finally got it to work. I was using one of the front USB ports for connection, which has worked before with transferring MP3's to a MP3 player but never tried to transfer these larger MP4 files. On my father's suggestion, I tried one of the rear ports and the files finally transferred. It's frustrating that such a small change made the difference but at least it finally worked. Thank you to everyone who spent time to help me out and hopefully this will help out someone else.
