Hey fergusrb, Fair play for helping everyone out. Just finished reading through the thread. I would very much like a PM for a kryptview supplier here in dublin. Just to confirm, N3 encryption is being implemented. Those channels that have gone(movies/sports) are now Nagra 3 while the rest of the channels will follow. Although many have questioned the purchasing of the kryptview box, it seems logical that if the sports/movies are being picked up by this box now after the "changeover", then they will continue to pick them up. Or are the sports/movie channels currently in purgatory at the moment? Quick thank you to afterdawn for being an indispensable resource on this matter over the last few years.

OK people...

lets be clear on this...

the kryptview box with latest firmware patch currently will allow you to view all cable channels since the N/L U*C changeover to Nagra2 in readiness for the final switch to Nagra 3.

Once U*C/N/L change over fully to Nagra 3, and this is fairly imminent (the delay is only in ensuring all genuine subscribers have received and activated their new offical cards/boxes) the Krptview box, like every other box, will not work.

It will only work if some one out there is able to decrpyt nagra 3 (which has not yet been done) and then create a new firmware patch for the kryptview/starview/digivox etc etc..

How long until Nagra 3 is cracked? no-one knows, and no doubt eventually it will be.

I just feel that all those who see and are being told by a certain person on this site that the kryptview is the holy grail are being a little misled. Granted it is the only box that has been able to come up with a firmware patch that is currently working, and fair play..but the reality is once nagra 3 is turned on and Nagra 2 (which is only being kept on until u*c are satisfied their subscription customers are sortd) is turned off, the box won't work.

Buying one now for what may only be another month's worth of viewing is a little misguided, but this is because of the vested interests of a certain person on this box for people to buy kryptviews from a certain dublin company!

anyway...make your own minds up, but do be aware of the full facts.

By the way..I have a patched box myself not a kryptview and so have no other interest, but it does wind me up that people are being misled!

Is there a 'Dublin company' ? As far as I am aware the pms regarding the Kryptview sellers are for websites that will deliver to Dublin, not a Dublin company!! But maybe I am wrong!!

If ANYONE can pm me the name of the Dublin company I would appreciate it!!

Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

if you have a patched box yourself how come there is no other boxes working then if that is the case ????

and if you are referring to me which i would say you are and i would also say you are a LINUX box person how come its going on now for over 5 weeks without a fix for them or any other box come to mind

funny how you should come out of the woodwork now with that statement i am not making anyone get a box purely giving them info that is freely available to all if they googled but some people trust long standing members on here

yes you are correct when they do move to N3 there possible an be a break in service for how long nobody can tell that

but if you work out the price of a full sub to any cable company and weight up the cost against the box what do you lose prob a months sub if they go off you can get box for the price of 2 months full service so any one that got one nearly 5 weeks ago are well on their way to getting their moneys worth from it at this stage

put your money where your mouth is and tell us what other box has a fix if you dare ?? and give us all a laugh at this stage if you read any other forums there is not a fix for any other box around

and yes i will always say the best supported box is the KryptView as on the last 3 occasions they have been first on all occasions when the rest could not fix the problem and this also goes for your TOP OF THE RANGE LINUX BOXES BE END OF ALL BOXES
