hello guys, i'm new to the 360 modding scene. I tried to download the firmware but i can't find the actual link to let me download it. Sorry if i seem like a noob but i'm trying to figure all this out. thank you. Also I'm not sure how newsgroups works, do i just subscribe to it and search for 360 files?

I cant help but feel your just promoting your thread,
Youve given people links to it in a few threads now rather than giving them an actual answer.
If M0nk3y_13 was to read TEXTBOOKS guide he/she would still not find an answer to there question.
Xbox 360 games cant be burnt onto DVD-R yet, and probably never will be.
Xbox 360 games must be burned onto a DVD+R DL disk.
This can be done with ... (well just read the first page of the thread)

@M0nk3y_13
ive never said burn to a DVD+R
ive said from the start burn to DVD+R DL
These are DVDs with two layers, layer 0 and layer 1,
Xbox 360 games are to big to fit onto DVD -/+ R, so use a dual layer disk to burn onto.
Go out and buy some verbs and read the first page of this thread.

The thing that confuses me is that the xbox 360 dusent read DL would i not have 2 keep stoping the game and turning the disk over??? and i no a guy who is selling copyed 360 games for £10 but there on a dvd-r i think, i no he has 2 delete some of the files like video's/the credits from the iso file but im wondering how he knows what files 2 delete?
i also looked at DL disks and they were like $100 for 5 do you no anywhere cheeper?

There are a lot of people and myself, who wana know that, once we get the xbox 360 game downloaded from the internet and the info files says that it has the the security sectors in it(ss.bin dmi.bin and pfi.bin), instead of just unraring it and burning with clodecd, can we burn it with dvd decrypter or imgburn and if we can do we have to do that "LayerBreak stuff".
thanks

see if you can find VERBATIM DVD+R DL discs, they work 100%, other media are not guaranteed to work 100%, use it at your own risk
hope this helps

Hello all, this is my first time posting here and I'm a newbie to making backups
I have already downloaded the ISO and DVD file already for a game
I have dual layer blank DVD media and a DVD burner that burns it
However, when I click on the DVD file in CloneCD it says that it can't locate the ISO file
And when I click on the ISO file it also says it can't locate it
I have both files in the same folder, so I don't understand why it can't find it
Please hep

I dont care about the name, i just want it to work on my xbox360...
The images i have all come up with xgd2dvd_ntsc in imgburn - but if i open the images in xbc they are fine and show as pal...
the info in imgburn says this:
label: xgd2dvd_ntsc
imp id: sonic scenarist 3.1
file sys: iso9660; udf (1.02)
nfo info:
- prepatched, stealth image, ixtreme compatible
- not region free
- playable in:AUSTRALIA EUROPE
So what am i doing wrong if they show up as XGD2DVD_NTSC when i open them in imgburn?? Or should they work regardless?
Figured out that the whole problem was because i hadn't managed to change the booktype properly.. Got it changed to dvd-rom and everything works like a charm.
Listen..
I have a xbox360 with a NME-chip.
The games that I download, are always pal games.
I burn these with Imgburn.
the info in imgburn says this:
label: xgd2dvd_ntsc
imp id: sonic scenarist 3.1
file sys: iso9660; udf (1.02)
Or it says this:
Label: XBOX360
imp id: Daikin U.S. Comtec Lab
file sys: ISO 9660; UDF (1.02)
What is the difference?
I think that the first one is NTSC game
and the other info is a PAl game.
I Burn the Pal-game
with the sign:
Label: XBOX360
imp id: Daikin U.S. Comtec Lab
file sys: ISO 9660; UDF (1.02)
Is a PAl game and it works when I put it in my 360
The first one, The one I think it is a NTSC-game doesnt work.
And now the PAl Games I download.
Cames up with only this message in IMGburn:
label: xgd2dvd_ntsc
imp id: sonic scenarist 3.1
file sys: iso9660; udf (1.02)
Please help
Whats the difference between these?!
Manny thanks

but occasionaly clonecd gets to the end of a burn, the chimes sound!
but my writer does not open, every time this happens i get the 'open tray' message when my 360 reads the disc.
and every time without fail if the writer ejects the disc works!!

3 out of 4 of the last torrents i'v burned have brought this message when inserted into my xbox
" This disc's region code is incorrect for this console"
Is it possible that this message can occur for any other reason other than that the torrent has been mislabled region free?

@M0nk3y_13
I assume your xbox is modded when i say that the game will work on your xbox.
You do not have to do anything to the dvd file,
If you really want to check the DVD file is working right tho open it in notepad,
check to see if it says something like
LayerBreak=1913760
IMAGE1.iso
the IMAGE1.iso should be the same as whatever the image file is named in that directory
@Wodger
Get DVDMulleter and check the region with it and let us know what the regions are for the games.

Hi I am new in this field, but I?ve read lots from the forum. Even so I can?t burn a game (overlord) I downloaded it in .rar format I did unrar and then I had 60-70 files in unrar format and I did unrar again on all-overlord01.rar. Now I have a file .iso which is around 7.5 giga and other file which is .dvd format and has 1 kb. As I read here I burned .nfo file with Imgburn 2.60 but before I setup layer break at 1913760. I have a Pioneer-111d dl burner. The burn it was finished succesfuly as Imgburn said, but when I tried the game in the XBOX units said ?open tray? so didn?t recognized the game. I tried the same procedure again but the same. I used every time only verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4X discs.
Please somebody tell me what I did wrong and maybe could help me what should I do, leaving from the .rar file or from the the .dvd and .nfo files.
. My XBOX 360 was modded with xeno 360 and the drive is Hitachi.
Thank you very much for the help

Yep thats right jsut burn the .dvd file with img burn and it should work in your xbox
@dorutu
The problem your having is you dont burn the NFO file.
You burn the DVD file, everything else you did was fine.
