How to run a program in Compatability Mode
This really isn't a big issue, but from time to time you will need to use a program that pre-exists Vista and needs to be run in compatability mode. Simply browse to the executable or the desktop icon and right click it -> go to Properties. In the new window click on the "compatibility" tab and tick the box beside "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" In the drop down menu choose the OS that the program is intended for.
this is from the first link i posted you will need this info!

If you have Nero 8 why don't you try using Recode, it's everything DVD Shrink is and more.

You don't need Recode. there's nothing to recode. DVD Shrink has done it's job and now all you have to do is burn.

Quote: dvd shrink is burning out of order
DVD Shrink does not burn!
Simply tell Shrink to save the files to a folder.
When finished, close DVD Shrink.
Open ImgBurn.
Choose the build mode.
Follow this guide:
http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=4632
Set the burning. Don't select max. Go about half of the discs rated burn speed. Somewhere around 8x.
Quote: Total Physical Memory: 1,047,380 KB - Available: 288,700
Close some programs running in the background. If you have InCD make sure you shut it down.
Forget about Nero for now.
Read the guides here or the guides that come with Nero before you try using it.

I didn't say ISO. I said save the files to a folder.
The whole process is very simple if you follow the instructions.
Quote: it seems img burn is causing the probs
No way!
As far as errors with ImgBurn, so far your log doesn't show any.
The only thing it shows is that your file system is FAT32.

Ok i know how to rip with fab.next step open shrink the usual way open the ripped dvd in open files. What then are the settings for the target and temp files. If . Shrink to folder can i then just add that folder to img burn and then burn it. Do i have to do anything else with the file .why 4 progs just to back up thanks fairy

That would be ok if they worked nero and imgburn both. just dont know why they make them too hard to understand ch i said i know how to rip to folder and use shrink. Got shrink from this site supposed to work with img but only burns with nero .you need to be bill gates to understand the tutorial for both progs. Can i just open the saved file from shrink on hard drive folder in img and in build burn it is that it i dont need to do anything with the file after shrink does its thing. ?
