So when i use cogswap it boots upe opening stuff in a slightly smaller screen size then my tv, but when it prompts me to press start it stops, then says please insert a ps2 format disc. I'm really stuck and i have no idea what to do.

If your issue is loading Cogswap, it is as follows

-boot up Cogswap
-place a PS2 disc in the tray
-wait til it displays the disc type
-press O button for CD or X button for DVD
-wait til it says "use cogswap"
-then use a slide card (fat ps2) or sensor mod (Slim ps2) to swap out the game disc for your backup disc.
-press X to play the disc

If thats not the issue, let me know.

Did you patch the ISO image PAL>NTSC patcher

Not everything is compatible with Cogswap.

Did you try using Cdloader instead.

Did you try pressing circle, instead of x

I don't know the game, so not sure what the controls are.

I just mentioned as some games use circle, not x

Why not just install fmcb 1.8 to your memory card, and use ESR.ELF to play the backup

YOu just need to patch your ISO image with ESR disc patcher GUI v0.24a
