Best DVD-R for PS2

I tried to search for this topic but to no avail. I would like to know what is the best DVD-R brand to use for my PS2. I currently use the memorex DVD-R's from walmart and use alcohol 120 to get them on them. But, for some reason, I am only able to get Final Fantasy XII backed up and playable. Any ideas would be appreciated.

either verbatims (with super azo) or taiyo yudens. taiyos are mostly online purchased, but verbs can be bought in stores; walmart doesn't carry them, best buy does.
