Ok, I got my PS2 used from a friend who passed it down to another friend to who in turn I traded for my newer model, (yes it has a rich history. xD). Now the main attraction I held was that it was already modded with Myth Chip.
Now after receiving it I noticed a few issues. For one, after searching the web for hours I found the Myth Chip is a Matrix Infinity clone, and thus has the same button combos for menu access and whathaveyou, HOWEVER! I can't get them to work all the time. Perhaps 90% of the time when I input a command upon booting the PS2, (eg, hold start to disable chip) it does not work, it just boots normally to the browser or inserted disk. But on the odd occasion... after maybe 50 hard resets, it will work. I'd like to know if there's a trick to these commands since the PS2 came with no manual for the chip.
Then there's another small problem of backup DVDs. I have Swap Magic 3 Coder on the side since that's what I needed before I traded up. But even using that, at least with this one disk, (haven't been able to try another yet) a few seconds after I insert the disk, the system automatically shuts itself right off. PSX isos do the same thing. If I try restarting with the disk inside, it doesn't even get past the splash screen before repeating the same issue. On the rare occasion I get Myth Chip's boot commands to work, I try enabling fast boot which just makes it hang at a black screen indefinitely while reading the disk.
Now being used, I have no idea what model of Myth Chip is in the thing. All the technical specs I know of are as follows...
PS2 Console: SCPH-70011
Browser: 1.40
CD Player: 2.00
Playstation Driver: 1.11
DVD Player: 3.10u
